I call it Death.... Hoping Someone Knows what it is

In my three grows this yr, I've suffered this infection to one degree or another. And had only one plant finish. This is not the first time this has happened to me (saw it once before several yrs back) and changes in medium and bleaching cleared it.
I grow hempy been doing it since 2008
I use Osmocote to feed since 2010
So it's not the style or feed that is in question. Even though you don't grow this way.
The attack is on old growth, leaves at leaf edge go yellow to brown or even black , which become very brittle very fast. I've checked for bugs and have found none. I'm thinking it's some kind of fungus but I can't nail down the source. Last grow I used some hygrozyme when things were pretty bad. 2 went from bad to worse but he old school Purple Heroin stabilized and finished. I plan on adding it in the next watering of the lone plant left in this grow. If it's root based I'd like to know what it is. Last weekend the plant under the light was in good shape the photos are from yesterday.

looks to me u got ph problem , r u using synthetic nutes in organic soil ?
It's a soil capped perlite hempy bucket. Top 2" is basic Happy Frog soil then medium chunk perlite to the bottom. The nutes are Osmocote + so its synthetic. The ph is right on at 6.0 which I've found to be perfect for the soil capped hempy.

what pesticides and fungicides do you use ?
I use Fertilome Fruit Tree Spray
sprayed it 3 times so far about 5 days apart, that's why I thinking it's a root thing.

I think too much of your Osmocote must have dissolved into the bottom of your hempy. It looks like severe nute burn to me. I'm assuming it is the pellet like stuff and not a liquid. It might have fallen thru the perlite and given them too much at once.

I thought of this also, but I've been using it for over 6 yrs and at higher loadings.

I'd flush the roots with 3 times the pot volume with air temp ..ph'ed water

then wait 3-5 days before again

then feed at 50% less

good luck
Flushing doesn't work well with OC+ excessive water will lead to excessive nutrient release. It has to be something in the root zone. I've seen similar symptoms with freezing in the root zone.

I've been growing with hempies for a couple of years myself. I love them, but I have managed to screw them up. I use the soil cap also and a few times I somehow got some of the soil layer (or a portion of it) too low in the hempy and it caused problems similar to yours. I think maybe the pot got knocked over or jostled around and the layers slightly shifted. That's the downside to time release fertilizers. If they dissolve all at once it is too much for the plant. I would repot regardless. It might slow it down a bit, but you can make up for it with a healthier plant. JMO

I offered you the 'Basic Flush' for your excessive nutrient fed roots

again good luck with your next grow ..lol

Thanks for the response. I just love hempy's and the work they do. I do take precautions to keep the prills out of the rez. With the chunky perlite I place a good layer of fine perlite right above the hole. But I do understand the shifting possibility, also the previous 2 runs were in coco and the prills don't shift much. But I can't rule out overfeeding because this is the first time I've vegged in a hempy, I normally veg with OC+ in soil, then I take that soil core put it in a hempy bucket let the roots hit the rez then flip into flower.
