I did something crazy...

Alright, so I read about this somewhere on the net so I decided to try it, just wondering if it's completely retarded or not. I topped my plant which has good node growth, but when I topped it I removed all the fan leaves as well. Personally I would go to think that this would kill the plant, but according to the article and what I've seen so far it hasn't. I was just wondering if anyone else has tried this before? Did you still successfully get more colas off the plant as topping it with the leaves on?

ummn, sounds like you were reading up on tomatoes. Farmers will often pluck the suckers, but tomatoes are vines, and they leave the leaves alone. The idea is to focus the energy to a single vine. Wth cannabis, topping is preferred and does the exact opposite, spreading the energy, by creating more branches.

I think you'll get more branching, but they'll be smaller and thinner. yield will likely suffer. Cost of learning how to grow... priceless.

What you did is probably added some time to your grow and lessened the yield. Bad idea, don't do that ever again.

yeah I guess so eh. ah I'll probably grow it for a couple months to see what it does and scrap it when I get my better light system. (400 HPS digital)

Oh I don't know if you should scrap it... I've killed off all the fan leaves before due to mistakes, the plant still finishes and can be successful. Just not AS successful, and just not as quick.

I mean, if you really want to get rid of it then do it now, no sense in giving it another 2 months of your life and THEN trashing it.

ya all you did was stress the plant out alot slowing growth and lessening your yield you plant needs its fan leaves to create energy from the sun think of fan leaves as solar panels for houses.

Anything that is not good enough to grow out is perfect for experiments. Over feed it. Underfeed it. LST it. It makes you a better gardener. Learn what u can. Then apply that knowledge to other grows.

If I tried everything I read on the internet I'd be dead, in jail or permanently disfigured
