Then the 150ppm tap water puts ya about 220 so at 700 ppm total you will have 480ppm of you 50/50 nutes. Just like I was saying 475-500

Just use tap water. No need for RO. Unless you just wanna waste water and money... Up to you either will work but if you use RO we need to recalculate because you won't be adding the mag sulfate and will be using the cal mag.

I never once used tap in any run and couldn't imagine it any other way. The life blood and food is given to them through the water. I wanted to get it as clean and pure as possible.

Tap water is morw trustworthy than any nutrients you buy.. just saying. But yea I agree there is nothing wrong with using it. But it does increase the cost with. 4to1 waste ratio and then adding back cal mag. The micros in tap are also beneficial. I mean by that logic growing in soil is dirty? Microbes and all the micros etc are beneficial. It's not like he has flint Michigan's water source with 800ppm of lead

Yes tap. .5 g epsom gives me 50 ish ppm. So 200 210 ppm.
Also h202 goes in after ph in my mixing tote?
Yes... So you add about 500 ppm of nutrients 250ppm of each. So the total ppm is close to 700or just over. Then ph it to 5.8

So about 1 hr after I had refilled I re adjusted ph,this morning the ph was 6.6 re adjusted to 6.0.Its now been about 16 hrs from last night and its 6.2.Ppm was 710 last night its now 820

Ok your plants are not eating well. All this root issues could be why as well as those ph fluctuations.

So I take it you don't have potassium bicarbonate correct?

Ph down is GH ph down? I think phosphoric and nitric acid mix if I remember right.

How much have the plants drank? If you top it up with tap water to the level it was yesterday what is the ppm?

Ph that high is going to give you problems. So if no potassium bicarbonate take 1/2 tsp per 5 gal of baking soda and add it to the system this will increase your buffer. Then ph it down to 5.8. this will raise the ppm. The problem is your tap like RO doesn't have enough carbonate or bicarbonate. It's unusual but it happens. So at this point RO become a more viable option. Because we will be adding a buffer to the water. Normally tap water is no problem but as I said not always.

After adding then let the system run for an hour and ph down again.

Bare with me man we will get it sorted

If you have RO and not to frustrated yet you can again empty and fill adding 1/2 tsp of baking soda per 5gal and then cal mag. The reason is cal mag does not contain a buffer and this could have been your issue all along.

If you have silica we can work with that too. But you weigh your options and tell me if you wanna go tap or RO then we will go from there

Hey, I have armour Si. Also ph up. I would like to stick to tap water as all the other strains I’ve grown have done ok.
Another issue I got a new ph drop test kit and I’m finding it pretty orange. My pen says 6.1. Not sure what to trust. I have two new ph pens both read within a point.
Anyone else have the drops to test ph? Post a pic if ya do.

I don't think so.. I never looked into it. If you have calibration fluid the just use that to verify.

Ok the ph should be potassium bicarbonate right? I wish I knew the concentration I always use raw form. Leave the silica out for now then.

Add 1 ml per gal ph up then ph down to 5.8 and check in an hour
