you don't base yields off of plant #'s. you base yields off of canopy size and light coverage. HID lighting loses lumens as you move away from the bulb. the light at 1 foot is much brighter than the light at 5 feet. :blsmoke:
Ok, so how much light would it take to cover these 40 plants; placing the light like a foot away from the plants. A 4x5 space hold 20 plants, so 4-1000 watt could cover these completely(5 plants a light). And buy another 4-1000 watt hid for the remaining 20 plants. Would this give me my desired yield?

If not im headed to a forrest that noone ever visits. I might even camp out and live there since I once had to live in a forrest while in the army.

this is a 1.5 pound plant. you will NEVER fit 20 of these in a 4 X 5 space. IMG_2676.jpg

1000 watts = 1 pound

maybe you should stick to being a consumer!
Growing a plant is not algebra. This is a operation that must and will be completed. I don't really beleive in the word cant and I'm not one to give up easily, actually I never give up or quit anything. So I pass on the whole just be a consumer crap, this is alot deeper than you think. My pride is on the line.

of course its not algebra....it damn sure aint child's play either.

gardening is a science.....its about a passion.

you show/express neither...

as a first time grower you should be more worried about making it TO harvest instead of how big harvest is.

whether pride is on the line or not...you should know better than to count your chicks before they hatch..... anything else is just foolishness

I love it when you pull out these shots, he he!
We'll 1 pound is good enough for most people on here but I'm apart of a different breed. I don't settle for for less so I'll be growing 40 plants outside in the deep woods. I'm a scout so this should be easy.

Man these people are trying really hard to help you and you are doing everything short of spitting in their faces, yet they continue to make an effort to edjucate you. Put your pride to the side listen and calm down about your yeilds as of this moment. It sounds like you should be worried about your space and amount of light.

to get 1.5 pounds per plant from 40plants you'll need more light, a lot of co2, ventilation, air conditioning etc and you have to be a pretty damned good grower, so unless youve been growing for years which you obviously havent or you wouldnt be asking this question, youll be lucky to get half that... here is an example of a 1pound indoor plant: WWW.GREENHOUSESEEDS.NL - Green House Seed Co. Amsterdam Since 1985 look at how wide it has to be, you would have to have a huge amount of space and light to have 40 of these

I think I might actually live in the forrest to protect my crop. I still want 1 to 1.5lb's per plant. I just dont care for the deer or hunters; I live in Ohio Buckeye State

Don't give yourself away........

From what I've heard of Ohio and the amount of hunters a crop that big will stick out like a soar thumb. In deer season alone the woods are supposed to be flooded with hunters, of coarse you should harvest by then anyways. Come October they will start walking the woods though.
