This thread I read, a grower got 20 feet of 1/2 copper tubing, dug a 5 foot hole wrapped Iit around 5 gallon buckets for a spiral, buried the tubing, and recirculated the rez through the ground. I think he called it a static chiller. Im on a slab so id half to cut the concrete. Not up to doing that.
Yep, cause once you hit a certain depth the ground stays same temp.

Do you think if at minimum I had to go with frozen bottles do you think it would negatively affect my roots?

This thread reminds me why I switched to dirt! ha ha. So you also have that option on your next grow if this gets too frustrating.

Hydro isn't that tough once your system is dialed in, but it can take some work to get there. Hope you are enjoying the experience.

I couldn't do the static chiller as I'm in an apartment and that would be impossible.
Get ya a cooler. That's one I'm using in a closet to grow out a cpl males in.IMG_0667.JPG I just threw some shit together cause all I need is to collect some pollen I did clean it first and add some more hydroton though. lol . And yes that's a mixing tub from lowes.. That's the flower tent with 3 of the larger trays before i started last cycleIMG_20140505_112623_862 - Copy.jpg Both reses are coolers.

You want to achieve consistency. Severe inconsistencies=setbacks or slow growth. Although ive had my rez tems down to 33 degrees and got some awesome purpling but I pushed the harvest later by doing that. Same issues apply during veg. If I remember correctly optimal rez temps are 50-65. Fahrenheit
