Hello all,

Welll I have a few babies growing and it is their start of the fourth week of veg. Now I have the little sweethearts under a 400 watt metal halide. They are doing great but they are starting to outgrow their pots. Not to worry though because I have a soil mixture and new bigger pots for them. Now they are all strong and I am confident they will survive a transplant.

But here is my question; I only have the one 400 watt MHD light, I have a 600 watt ordered but probably will not get here for like two weeks. So I was wondering should I wait for the other light before I transplant or should I adjust the light I have now and hope it will cover them all? I have added some pics so you all can see. My concern is that once I transplant they will be spread out more than you see i the pics. Do any of you think the 400 watt MHD would be ok until I get the other light in there?

Please help a little home boy out. I am ready to transplant that is no problem I am just worrried about them not getting enough light.

Thanks to all who respond.............

I hope this all makes sense if not just ask and I will clarify as best I can. I want to take care of these babies the best I can . They are off to a real good start.........

i reckon youll be fine. you could always transplant into the square wilmo pots which are deeper than they are wide, allowing room for 2weeks worth of roots, and also not taking up too much horizontal space.

what size pots are you transplanting into? if the light spreadage is a problem, you could always add a couple of flouros, or stick a couple outside alternately until your 600 arrives..

Yeah I was thinking about using my CFL grow lights that I have for cloning and seedlings.........The pots are umm well let me go take a pic and show you . I have the space in my grow room for all of them and I suspect I willl lose from 30% to 50 % due to being males. hold on I will go snap a pic.

how olds the ww? she looks very bushy, nice and healthy colour

so long as you alternate the plants underneath the light then you should be okay, maybe a bit of stretching. using your cfls (if theyre spare) or the glorious sun, and i reckon youll be fine.

good luck man

ok they were germinated on 6/21 and on 6/23 they popped out of the dirt. Yeah she is real nice and full and bushy . Is that the wrong way to go ? I was trying to avoid excessive stretching. I have the lights that can be lowered right down on them.(cfl) I just am trying to be real patient this round and not rush my babies but at the same time I want to increase my growth experience by documenting and keeping to a strict regimen of food and light etc. I can give the little honies some sun but I was trying not to move them this time like I did first grow,. But I just may have to. Anyways the light comes soon . Do you think it is time to transplant? I have been watching for the roots to pop through the bottom. So far not much there.

thnx again morp. You are a kind person.

You should go ahead and transplant.
Just because you can not see the roots coming out out the bottom does not mean they are not there.

Keeping the lights close is exactly what you should do.
The less stretching the better.

thnx mid I appreciate the help. Last grow I had my so called "pal " who has grown before to bounce questions and ideas off of. But he turned out to be in the growing game for different reasons than me and I caught him stealing from US. What a dirt bag. So now I rely totaly on all of you. To just talk , share, get ideas and help from. Thanks alot I will transplant tomorrow . Today I have to work~

Just some idiot
I be willing to say that you will be very happy in about one week, those plants will start to grow my friend. Good luck and let's see what they look like in a week.

I would transplant them in to the pots you have and create a dome around them with tin foil (create a green house of sorts), that way the light will be confined to a smaller area and hit every plant.....It might not be enough to gain strong growth but sure will hold them off until the new light comes.:blsmoke:

not a great idea. think of the increased heat and humidity. not to mention hot spots
