Once I pick up a digi cam I'll post some pics for you.

used 1/2 inch particle board (press board) for the panels and 1x2s for the supports with 1-1/4 gold screws for fasteners(all this made the cabinets lighter then using heavier woods) and will make them much easier to move when the time comes for moving.

I Put a total of 4 wheel rollers on the bottom corners so the cabinets can be rolled around the room easily if need be. The inner cabinet walls are covered in 2mm mylar for light reflection. the intake holes are drilled with a 2 & 1/4 inch hole bit below the bucket line.

The outer walls of the cabinets are painted properly and outfitted with gold hinges, lock hardware and handles... which makes them seem like furniture type storage cabinets.

Hey Lion , sprout and sports guy. Not really me thread but a lot of guestions have been asked. Lion I think you have all of the information they need and pictures back and forth will help. i did see the thread when you posted it, I have been a little busy. I will look at it as time allows.
I believe t-5's and cfl's are better for closet grows. If you invest in them initially you will not waste your money. The 'stealth' is much easier and the logistics make it even better. You will gain 18" of usable space. I wouldn't buy less than a four bulb t-5 probably an 8 bulb, always mix them 1/2 red, 1/2 blue. I think they are off on thier calculations, the four foot bulbs are 5000 lumens not the 2 foot.
I am not a fan of mother plants for closet growers. I think its easier to set up a perpetual grow without them. Let me explain. Take two clones from each plant when the have shown maturity according to Earls Pre- sexing thread, mark which plant they came from and flower the originals. Two weeks later take two more clones from each plant. If you are doing sog or scrog you would trim the bottom 1/3 of the plant off anyway, so you have nothing to lose. Within two weeks of that you will have identified and thrown out all males. If you meet the law of averages and start with four plants, you know have 2 females 4 weeks into flowering, four females ready to start flowering and four females not far behind. Now every time you put a plant under flower light schedule clone it. When you can expand save some mothers clone, root and flower with no vegging time. Learn the plants first. Look at em, watch them develop, get a feel for them, then run the power to em when you have a little more experience. Or a bigger space. That computer server cabinet I bought would make dandy little clone vegging Station. VV

Thanks VV its been a while since I've heard from you...that sounds like a good plan...the idea of maintaining mother plants in such a small space seems like it would be more hassle than it's worth but I think I will try what you advised...What would you prefer for a closet grow? Cfls, t-5s, or LEDs. Or how about t-5s or leds on the ceiling of the cab and cfls on the walls for extra light? Or any other combos? As always thanks for the help. :peace:

Heeyyyy SG! Sounds like a plan. If you do happen to buy T5. Remember to make sure you get the correct watt bulb. Alot of those site don't put it up front, and you have to make sure you get at least the 54 or 55 watt ones, not the older 24 watt ones.
I myself was wondering about utilizing T5 for my mother/clone box. And for a portion of my closet grow/flower area.
BTW. I believe that VV is spot on with the idea of splitting your grow. One small area for your non-smelling moms/clones. Use the larger area for the flowering, and environmental control.

Good luck kid!

I'm still picking up components for the grow. I had some personals to take care of. Ended up selling my seeds to my mentor. Got exact cash back for all troubles so it's ok. I decided to go with drchronic, with three fem. strains 2 mostly Indica, 1 sat.. Pure Power Plant (PPP), Dutch Passion#1, and Afghan Kush (WOS-fem.). The reported flowering period will 6-6.5 weeks, 7-8 weeks, 9-10 weeks. Gonna use another pre-paid cc. I've also decided to just keep the closet for the flowering, and move the mother clones off to the b-room.
I readjusted my plans. Schemes if you will.
I'll veg 6 plants. Two of each plant. Two of the strains, the Indies I believe are rated to veg for flower within 3 weeks, the third, 4 weeks. As of right now, if I just veg all for the 4, I think maybe, hopefully, I'll be able to lift 6 clones from 6.5wk enders. This way I can flower them under the 400whps in slots #1 and #2. I know that I'll be able pull atleast 3 from each of the other two strains. This way, I could put the 7-8wk ender in slot #3, and the 9-10wk in slot #4. Slots 3 and 4 are the cfl or T5 area. I think I may be leaning toward two 150watt cfl for the bottom two slots. One for each of the two lower plant slots. I'm doing this on VV's suggestion. It's either the two 150's(blooms), or two of these with 1 pack of the blooms, to mix blue/red -
High Tech Garden Supply
The longest any dwc/plant group will stay in slot #3 or #4 is for 1-4 weeks maximum. This way, all groups will have "thier time in the sun", under the hps. I am anticipating a mini moveable scr0g for the PPP. Basically, it'll be a .25"-.55" thick inverted mini table, that the dwc will rest upon. This way, I can just slide it around, by it's own base board/table top, just inverted.
Man I'm just stoned. Been thinking and writing too much. I should be working on my screenplay.
Don't laugh.
Later I'll be going to homedepot with my cuz to pick up components. He's the backer, and "face man" on this op. He does the smiling/spending/selling. I do the thinking, and planning.

So far as mothers are concerned, I know I want a few. I don't want to be hanging on by my fingernails, trying to make sure I don't lose good genetics to a bad generation, or an outbreak of infection, etc.

My current plan for mothers revolves around these bad boys:

Whitmor 6497-150B 36" Clothes Closet

(actually, I've found better brand that uses canvas-like material but I've lost the link at the moment.)

Add panda film, CFLS, and some ducting/plumbing behind/below. I figure I can stick two modest mothers in a light soiless mix feed with drip in there under some Daylight ecolights and do alright.

Yo Mac! Was up? Are you still gearing up for your mega mini lab? Or have you already completed the construction? I'm still friggin buying everything. In stages though. I'll be going to lowes for pre-cut wood. Then I'll be using my friends tools to assemble my flower bay. For the mothers/clones, i'm just going to get a preassembled base cab, or mini rubbermaid/suncast storage shed. Got my lights in though. Next is are the nutes, new seeds, and mini cab.
Good luck. Later.

I was thinking of starting a side mushroom op. And this may work well with it. If I could find one a few inches longer/wider, I would be able to fit/hide two grow racks in there.

Nice one.
