I have a 2×4×7 tent and a 400 hps how many plants should I grow to get the best yeild and how tall should they get before I flower them going to grow gods bud growing in soil

one or two critical kush plants 6 week + veg and 9 week flowering yields if done good with no topping or training about 7 zips each.

I do 8 to 10 CKs under 3 600 watt hps in a 8x4 grow box. CK is nice bud people love it :)

I'm no indoor expert but years ago I grew 3 plants under a 400 HPS and imo it was not enough light because after I went to 12/12 it's like they exploded with growth and the light wasn't penetrating that well.

I would say 2 plants and start your 12/12 once they're about 1 foot. It might depend on what strain you're growing too.

Thanks good to know I was planning on doing four two per thirty gallon container maybe I need to only do one per container and just do two plants total if I could get 7 zips per plant that would be perfect 14 zips per harvest would be ideal but will a space 2×4×7 be big enough to grow plants that produce 7 zips each each plant would have four square feet

Definitely enough space to pull a p or more. I was pulling 14 out of a 3x2 so you should be smooth sailing.
