I have horrible luck with powdery mildew outdoors, indoors its not a problem. I have tried it all greencure, serande, aact, and even eagle 20. Nothing is fighting it off. does anyone have any pointers

You need to get a running start and then stay on top of it. Start with serenade - spray once every two to three days for three times....that would be when the plants are young.

After that spray once/week with a mixture of 4 or 5:1 water:milk....yep, plain old milk. Works great, not good for PM and not bad for you! You will want to keep that up at least thru veg. Flower is a little trickier since you would prefer not to spray buds...but you can if you need to. You can do this with AACT as well but milk is easy and effective....of course, mixing it up a little is good - milk one week, AACT the next, etc

Use a fan if it's in a dead air space. Don't let it get too thick with leaves, etc...thin the inside a little...and good luck.

I think location is important, if the general environment is too humid its an uphill battle. as for controls, jcmjrt has some solid advice and you could also try a foliar spray of calcium

MILK. MILK. MILK. works great! i had to use it this year on my ladies. just waited till it was hot as hell outside (around 80+) & speayed all of them with milk! this was last week & i havent seen anything pop back up yet! & it had my ladies nice & shiney 2! lol.... i also tried all vinegar & that shit did nothing! nothing at all! just use milk. but put it in a big pressure sprayer like one used 4 weeds cause a hand sprayer will b all fuckin day!

imo...once a plant had PM, you wont be able to kill it, unless you cull the plant...i refuse to use products that are know to cause health problems...(read: eagle 20)
i have done the milk thing/mildew cure/green cure...they might work for a bit...but it will always comeback....

The plants are clones from progressive options in los angeles so I think they had pm before I even got them

Try growing some fast finishing strains only. I also fight PM each year. I try most everything in this thread. I always get it mid october. Last year I had a purple kush finish early October and beat all the problems. So this year I am growing 7 of those PK and 5 other fast kush plants.

I do get spots early on. I pick those as I see them. With this PK strain I can finish the plant before PM has kicked in. Logs from my last 4 years show PM and mold/budworms never showed up till mid Oct. I just mention this for you said you have problems every year like I. watch my grow and see if my plan works. It took my 5 years to figure out what works best in my back yard and area. Strain id huge huge key. Also not having plants in suburban backyard for 30 less days is ideal with your life is on the line.

Also look into controlling PM with PH. IMO PM is all about PH. (do not use baking soda like you will read) It swipes the smell from the plant. That being said some people and areas are just fucked.

If you can tent your plants look into those burners indoor growers use for PM. From what I hear the kill it asap. I cannot remember the name of the burner for the life of me. It's easy to find out though.

If not taken care of and the pm gets into the bud leafs your crop is ruined. Been there man.

good advice from 5150 - makes me feel better to hear I'm not the only one whose been plagued by it. there's a Jorge Cervantes video on youtube that shows how you can dunk infected branches in water with h202 added to it - so if you can't get rid of it and don't want to lose the plant you could try ths.

oh yeah - to add to what 5150 said - the target harvest date is important. if you don't want to grow something faster finishing, you could still grow something slower if you forced it to start flowering a wee bit earlier.

I did the dunking method as well. I got some threads on it at this site or roll it up. I will see if I can dig it up for you guys. It does effect the smell a lot. shelf life is like a month before it dries funky. (Drying part not in links) When all said and done it did not work that great. My plants had lots of PM on them. PM into the sugar leafs. At point your bud is garbage.

The best advice I can give is the tent your plant or plants with plastic. Use sulfur burner for indoor grows. It's a fact that surfer burners kill PM on the spot. Note I have not done it. so do your own research as far as effects taste and all that.

I will see if I can find the links with vids dunking PM. MAy be pics not sure. Anyway check back.

thanks for posting this 5150. I haven't done the dunk myself - didn't know it was that detrimental to the aroma... I have run sulfur burners in a greenhouse before though I can assure you it did not work for me - I have to go back to suspecting the environment. the greenhouse had poor ventilation and was in a marshy area...
