I need your help

I will be the first to admit that although I am taking horticulture classes at Rutgers, I am not completely sure the stage that my plant is at and I am in need of help to know if this is time to let this project go - or keep going.

It was planted early April with about 10 other seeds, they all grew but sadly most were ripped up because SOMEONE thought they were weeds in the vegetable garden and only 2 survived.

I checked (with very limited knowledge) to see the sexes, and from what I was comparing my plants to, I decided both were female.

Now, one is very tall about 6 feet and has seed-like growth growing from majority of the plant itself. The other is much shorter but very green and lush but has not started to flower yet.

I am going to post some pictures of the one very tall one, and the other shorter but much healthier looking one.

All I am asking is for someone to please clarify and explain to me what is going on with my plants and the best course of action from here on out. Thank you!

I have (very) limited knowledge, but that seed-like growth is definately pollen sacs. The middle pic looks female. Get rid of the males or they're gonna pollinate your girl. May be to late. Hope that helps a little. Good Luck!!

Sorry...didn't know this had already been confirmed by others.

the female has indeed begun to flower, cut the male and focus all your efforts towards the female. even if she is pollinated she's worth keeping around

it lucks like your plant was a male and if it stays with the others it will turn them into males also. i know you already had some answers but i wished someone could help me with my problem. good luck .you can keep the seeds and let them dry and use them for next year!

Time and time again.... It's not going to turn it into a male, it will disperse pollen and pollinate the females which in turn produce seeds.

lol thats one of the funniest things I've read in a while.
Your female will not turn into a male like this rocket scientist says, it will get polinated and have seeds. Its like people. My hanging around my wife won't turn her into a guy, but if I have sex with her she will get pregnant.
