If a hose starts leaking on a canister it can drain your tank
Also, HOBs are a lot easier to clean- just turn it off and pull out the media basket
I'm running an AC110 (500gph) an AC70 (300gph) and an AC50 powerhead (270gph) with a sponge filter on my 55Gal. so I'm turning the water over ~20X an hour
