Update:
tent 10.jpgcab 1.jpg

Just watching them grow. The only issue has been getting the temp to stay below 85 in the cab. It will get to about 82 shortly after the lights come on. Then it slowly climbs to about 88 just before they turn off. Any ideas?

I've also started making it rain. https://www.rollitup.org/newbie-central/316301-calling-all-noob-growers.html The technique makes sense. Thanks riddleme. We'll see what happens.

2cno1 - day 28 (since they started in the bubbler). These two have had it rough. While rooting in the bubbler they developed some rot. The lid was taken off and the plant was topped due too rot. Then, ka-pow, roots like crazy. Now these ladies are in dirt. Any ways too increase their chances are welcome.

In closing this update I have to say that this is one of the most therapeutic things I've done in a long time. I now have my own piece of mother nature's earth and I want to start my first garden this year. Although I'll probably take it slow and just do a little bit my first season, I'll make sure to post up pics in the gardening section.

I'd also like to thank all of you whose threads I've trolled over the past several months and those of you who have contributed to my threads. It's been great fun and an even better experience than I could have hoped for. I'm looking forward to many more posts and learning experiences on RIU.

Thanks
Sin

What CFM is your out fan, and do you have a passive intake? Also, moving the hanging fan so it blows across the lights can help.

It's 50 cfm. 2x3" passive intakes. Those two fans are blowing right across the lights. I moved the blue fan to the back, pointing up still but slightly forward. This helped. My temp has been a steady 84 degrees since this morning. I'd still like to get it lower though.

You could try a intake fan, good air circualtion is definately a key in temp control, make sure your intake is the same as your out so you dont have retarded pressure problems. Something might be restricting your out fan too. Idk man, sounds strange.

The temp of your outside air might be too high too lower your temps.

At least it's stable at 84-85 degrees.

So it's a 50 cfm blower with a 3" exhaust. I have two 3" passive intakes, one at the bottom front of each side. I don't get it. Is it just the 2 40watters and the 4 23watters? It has plenty of circulation...:wall:

What is the temp outside the box? I cant tell from the setup but you should have a fan blowing on the lights to cool them off.. also the larger desk fan you have generates some heat, think about taking it out if you keep it in there, I had 2 in my box thinking that it was helping but when I took them out the temp dropped 8 degrees. The electrical outlet is also generating some heat so if you can take it out without ruining the stealth you should.. one other thing to look out for is make sure your exhaust isn't sucking out more than you are pumping in, that will cause the air to feel stale and dry.. I have quite a bit of information about my setup on my log if you want to check it out it may help https://www.rollitup.org/cfl-growing/399709-my-first-grow-cfl-3-a.html.. anyways hope this helps, good luck and happy smoking!

The temp outside the box is a steady 69 degrees. All my instruments, fans, etc. are not even a bit warm, all cool to the touch. The pc fans are blowing across the lights and the tops of the plants.

Perhaps I should try pointing the pc fans up a little more to remove air closer to the top of the cab.?

Also, I started thinking about the temp gradually going up thoughout the day and MVNuggets post about the pressure issues from not enough intake. Last night I realized that there was some suction on the door right before it closed all the way. Is this my problem?

Thanks Nugs and Freebird. I'll try some things later and let you know how it turns out.

looking great bro
i have a question however can you flower with out 2700 and just use 6500s
Thanks wanabe. I've heard that you can get away with 6500s but the plants react much better when flowering under 2700s.

It could be restricting the intake meaning your fan isnt pulling enough air in to cool the tent down. The suction would represent that your fan isnt pulling air in through your intake, but through some small air leak possibly near the door. I always have about 1' to 2" of space between the intake and the wall. Remind me how big your setup is? Passive intakes are usually the way to go, as I believe you posted on one of my threads, for smaller setups. lol.

Keep us posted bro.

Damn brotha, your grow is pretty awesome, and I love the bubbler idea. Is there a link to making one? Keep up the green thumb. Respect man.

well the general idea is to have as much air pumping in as is pumping out or have a little more pumping in. So I don't think that adding more holes for more air to be sucked in by your outtake is such a good idea(if that is what you mean), if you can add another computer fan for intake you should. I ordered 3 120mm fans from ebay that came in today for a dollar a peace, shipping was only $2 but it took about 15 days to get here. If you can I would also move your exhaust to the top of your tent that way it gets all the hot air from your lights. Just experiment some with your design, draw it out and make it come to life!

Thanks KB! Google it, man. "bubble cloner"

I went savage on the cab. I grabbed the drill and started putting holes in a small grouping in the top front of both sides. I gave it a half hour or so and it seemed to be hanging around 81. We'll see what will happen in the next hour.

My temp was holding steady at 81 degrees just before my lights went off last night. So I'm headed in the right direction with a bit more intake towards the top of the box. There's still a bit of suction as the door opens and closes. If I can eliminate that I think the temps could be in the mid to upper 70s. More intake today! I'll keep you posted.
