Do I check the ph of th soil or the feeding solution or both? I dont know the basics yet I guess.

I am watering with the proper amounts of nutrients and still have yellowing and dieing leaves.

That seems impossible that it would be 2, what the hell kind of pH tester is it and are you sure you're using it correctly? What parts of the plants are affected, where exactly does the problem occur? Do you have any photographs?

When you feed it is best to have a solution with a pH of about 6.3-ish, it helps to have dolomite lime in the soil (fuck the cal-mag). Dolomite lime will provide calcium and magnesium, it can be supplied frequently and is long lasting yet difficult to overdo; it also raises soil pH. You could still use the cal-mag but much more sparingly, or foliarly.

thanx for the reply!
I have that ph tester that is 3in1. It measures water, ph, and light and it costs $9.99 at the local hydro shop. It has probes that stick down in the dirt. It def says around 2 - 2.5 measured in several different plants.
I will look into the dolomite lime tho, and buy a different tester I guess.

have you been ph'ing your water after you add the nutes or before adding the nutes and have you been phing the plain water you give them? a 2.0 does seem extremely unlikely like he said as well. Did you make sure to calibrate it properly?

I just bought the tester 2day. I have never tested the water ever. It needs to be calibrated?

I have been reading the meter wrong! Lol...the 2 is the water guage reading which would be like 6.5-7 on the ph part. The meter has such a small range that is so small, that it is impossible to tell with any accuracy the actual ph closer than .5 either way.

Look at the reviews on the tester, a lot of them suggest it doesn't read pH correctly.

here is a good meter, cheap as hell and comes with the calibration fluid. I must admit im not certain if the one you have needs to be calibrated since ive never used the cheap multi function ones because ive heard nothing but bad things about them. I would think it would be, look at your instructions and it should tell you for sure. Alright, heres the site, i just had someone point it out to me yesterday actually. I would be very surprised if you can find one cheaper after shipping than this one.

If your pH is really that level you should flush it as soon as possible and find out how many tea or tablespoons you should add per gallon. Its usually one tablespoon which is equal to 3 teaspoons. Also check your pH before every water, sometimes it can get a really high alkalinity or acidity over time. Also try to keep it aerated.

could have salt build up in your soil

heres ur problem dude that pot is to fuckin small 4 that plant and ur over feeding it as well and ur yellow and rusting leaves will stop dying after u geta bigger pot it root bond dude 4 every foot of plant u need a foot of roots so get some tall skinny tarsh cans and see after a few days if ur plant makes a 100 % turn around ok

also what week on flower are you

Week 7 flowering of....... ???total weeks???

I use just more than half of what the bottle says for nutes, but I think I used too much cal-mag for 2 watering cycles though by accident, and maybe that accounts for it?
