I wanna see other 70w hps grows

Im using a 70w hps for my 2 plants in a cabinet with doors. Its been doing great so far my plants just showed hairs yesterday and today. Anyone else ever use a 70w and have pics or anything to share about it?

im working with 150 watt hps lamp's

i seen the lower watt bulb's but didnt see fixture's ? what fixtures u use ?

i personally would go with a CFL grow if i had to go lower in Watt's

Look in his sig, his grow started off as a CFL grow.

I'm interested in seeing how a 70w grow turns out, haven't seen many of those..

it started as a cfl grow then i got the hps for 60 bucks at menards. im only using the hps right now till i figure out how to get all my cfls back in there with.

do you plan on going from start to harvest with just that one 70 w

did it come with a ballast how did it come was it a complete system or do it work in a standerd light socket

yea im gonna use the 70w till the end but with cfls as side light. I got the light at menards, it came with balast and bulb. It looks like this out the box.

That's a real shame you bougt that light especially at $60 holy cow. I hate to tell you this but the 70w hps only puts out cfl level power except is less efficient and throws more heat of course.

If all you can run right now is the HPS I would suggest you take it out and put the cfl's back in. You didn't list the square footage of your box but that's a box that probably actually should have a 150-250w hps in it, if you wanted to use a hps, which you could have gotten for the same price or less than the 70. If it's not too late take the 70 back and at least get a 150...

Look at the size of those plants, they are going to end up much taller and no way is a 70 enough it just isn't I've used 150's and even they would need to be run vertically to get full coverage on those when they are at the size they will finish at if you flip them now.


(And I am the guy who always trys to talk people OUT OF CFL's just for the record so you don't think I prefer cfl's over hps in general.)

my friend has the same exact setup as me. 2 plants in a mylar lined cab with the same exact 70w hps and his buds are nice and actually pretty dense. So if i can atleast get that, which i will, expecially since i have 7-8 cfls to still put in there, ill be ok.

Yo Batman, I just checked out your grow journal- looks pretty nice...do you have ventilation for the 70W? How much heat do those things put out?

Ok then but you could have done a lot better for your money dude I'm not kidding you that is insufficient so you do need to figure out how to get all the cfl's back in there too before they're flowering. It would be much easier to use a 150 or 250 and diy cooltube, it's going to be very hard your way.

well since i have no credit card or money to order anything and the 70w was all i could find at the store, thats kinda the best i can do right now. Im slowly aquiring more grow items. The plants have been in 12/12 for 9 days now and they both showed their hairs yesterday. Ill prolly keep a little to smoke from these and sell the rest to get better stuff. Regs up here is $30 an 8th so i can atleast make enough to get a 150w for my next grow to go with my 70w and cfls.

150w hps's are sold as security lights at lighting stores or home centers, but yes not all stores have them but probably half do.

Go get yourself one of those credit card gift card things and go here http://www.hidhut.com/catalog/150-hps-sun-system-complete-kit-p-1427.html I have the same exact light ordered from that site, works great I just harvested 2 ounces from one plant of bagseed and I smoked quite a bit off of it while it grew (couldn't resist).

Attached is picture of my closet now with my 3 autoflowering plants. The one in the front there is probably about 1 week away from harvest, just checked the trichs and they were all cloudy with some amber ones. The second light is a big 68 watt cfl, the 150watt hps isnt quite big enough to get all 3 plants, soon as I get all square pots that'll help.

As if mysticlown is running a 20kw grow under his bed at his parents place?

150 watt hps is a joke to. You need atleast 10,000 lumens per sqaure foot. Most small grow ops are 4 sqaure ft so that 150 watt will give you like 4000 lumens which is bad. Go big or go home.

listen oreganoheadS don't slander my good name. So what if I grow in my rents place. Pound for pound I get more bud than you. Not to mention my heroin project on the side. Yea you got more green boxes but I got more green paper. Ya na mean son?

lol I wouldnt call it a joke. I just harvested about 2 ounces off my plant and next week probably another ounce from that auto, then another 4 or 5 weeks another 2-3 ounces from my other 2 autos, and I have 2 seedlings started under floros and Ill just cycle those in as I harvest my other plants. I will never buy weed again in my life. I will never have to deal with sketchy dealers. A 150 watt hps is not a joke.

mystic do you have any pictures of your grows? I figured you might have some albums in your profile.

Lookin nice Bman. Fire those cfls back up for some sidelighting, back off the water a bit and bud fest is on.
