i have a small closet space, maybe 1 1/2 feet by 2 1/2
and about 5 1/2 feet tall, my plan was to follow the books 70 day grow plan, but not everything comes out as perfectly as in the books..

Just sit and read this entire site before your seeds get there. As a complete noob mistakes are going to happen. Probably a bunch. But thats one of the best ways to learn. What kind of light are you using? What strain are you growing?

All you can do is to do your best as to what the books say. They were written for a reason. First off make sure you have the correct cfl's...6500K for veg, and 2700K for flowering. Be sure to have at least 1 cfl per plant for the first week or so after it pops ground. After that you will have to start using more. I went to a total of 7 for my 1 plant and it turned out gorgeous...too bad it was male though. Make sure you get some decent soil...spend a few bucks and get a package deal from foxfarms or some other company if you like. Try to get soil that has worm castings, bat guano...stuff like that if you can, plants LOVE that shit. Buy a moisture meter, EC/PPM meter, PH tester, basic stuff you need to make sure everything is going ok. Also too make sure to get some good nutes, again Foxfarms has some pretty good stuff, and it's all organic. I don't use foxfarms, i use B'Cuzz, and i LOVE that stuff, always had great results. Those are the basics. Good luck and have fun.

im going to be using an initial 6 light system in the book with 43 watt lights and expand on that as they grow. i ordered some kaya and PPP seeds from nirvana and the kaya are feminized so im using those for the first grow, and the PPP after i know what im doing a little bit more.

Better off to use the normal seeds first...that way yo'll have good healthy females when you get a grow under your belt...it would be ashame to see the females get messed up by "noob" mistakes.

My only advice is to give it the basics. Thats all it needs. Give it a good place to put its roots, give it water, and give it proper lighting. Thats all you need. Stick to those the first time and then start experimenting on subsequent grows, learn the basics first then the sky is the limit. However, I would recommend using some bagseed the first time, but as long as you stick with the basics, you should be ok either way.
