umm i would have a small fan either mounted on the wall or whatever you can do that is blowing air in between the top of your plants and the light. then what i like to do is tie a little digital temp gauge with a string to your hanging light and ballest that reaches down to the level of your plants. that will tell you how hot it is right at the top of your plants. i wouldnt put it any closer than when it reads 80 degrees. keep in mind the more air circulation inbetween the closer youll get your light, witch equals denser and more buds!!!!

oh yeah and 80 degrees means with mature plants, like when they are flowering. when there seedlings or small clones keep room at 72 degrees

When growing hydro DWC style, during the final two week flush, do we still adjust PH despite nute uptake not being an issue?

ive never done deep water culture before but im assuming you would want to always keep your ph at 5.5 to 6.0. its just water theirs no soil to buffer.

I have 5 plants aprox 3 weeks old, Sprouted them in soil and moved the to a 15 gal DWC system. 3 of the plants are yellowing and curling toward the lower leaves. I don't believe it to be a nutrient burn because I don't use nutrients I simply Dissolve soil into the water. What gets me is I have 5 seedlings around 3 days old in the same cups and they are growing great! Any ideas on what Im doing wrong?
Attached 4 pics for better idea

Im pretty Noob man so don't hold me to this, but you can totally grow with a florescent. If your going to I'd reccomend a bunch of CFL's instead of just one big florescent. Im not sure about the color temperature, Im pretty sure plants like 6700 for either vegging or flowering, but like a 2700K for the opposite. If you already have this light im sure that with a couple CFL's around it would work fine, although OF COARSE in a perfect world a HPS MH combo would be "preferred"

Because I've been using it for the past 15 days that I planted the seed..... I mean I know I'm not gonna get the best buds in the world using this light but will it at least give some decent bud? I have my plant about 1 and a half inch away from the light bulb and I have the light bulb horizontal so its like standing on the on the floor with the light bulb going side to side instead of up and down cuz I heard the bulb gives off more light on the sides than the bottom of it.....

Yep, Sounds perfect to me, I got CFL's on their sides as well. Its true my babies like it more than when it was "spotlighted" on them. How bigs your plant at 15 days? And the Inch and a half sounds about right the Florescent shouldnt get to hot

P.S I saw a great Idea posted on here by someone not sure who but cutting a can in half works great as a mini light hood for the compact florecsnt
