I wonder if this is the R4 strain...

Well, Sour Tsunami and Tora Bora both have CBD levels around 14%, but they also have 8% or so THC. The interesting thing about the R4 is that it doesn't have an appreciable amount of THC, but has been reported to have CBD levels as high as 22%. For my condition - nerve inflammation, I've decided that an even THC:CBD ratio is the most effective, but I plan to grow the R4 out and hash and make a tincture for my pops who has a form of palsy where his head nods without his knowledge. I'm hoping that since CBD is effective for epilepsy that maybe it will help him also.

Very interesting, I hope and believe it will help...

Update on the R4, one has been determined to show intersex traits and has been culled. 2 left. These were gifted as clones and are currently being grown out by others, in flower now. They look like a standard hybrid so far.
We are also working on a Tangerine flavored pck hybrid of high CBD content. Flowers will be tested.

Peace

I have 2 fem R4 seeds in the soak. I found this "R4 grow info" on Greenwerkz site. Sounds like it will lean sativa from their comment about super cropping being recommended if you veg more than 4 weeks.....

Kind of patronizing, but maybe I'm just being sensitive :-). We'll see if ole Bubba has the "expert" skills supposedly needed to grow this strain. Also, they speak to multiple pheno types.... these seeds are billed as feminized seeds..... doesn't that mean that they would be the genetic twin of the mom? I can see getting different CBD% from different grow methods..... but I would hope one seed wouldn't be sativa and one Indica.... Could be I'm just ignerant though

So info I have found talking to a few breeders and a doctor then looking at the research found so far,
% of parents has little to do with what WILL be seen in progeny. Flowers need individual testing.
Cbd only is not desirable according to the doc I spoke to. Claims the cbd oil one can purchase is garbage. That whole plant extraction is better meds because of the way the cannabinoids interact. Almost scoffed at the idea of breeding cannabinoid specific plants, I disagree with this notion.
The R4 we have is a stout little indica looking girl.
The Dudes though is where its at 1:1 8% thc 9.1 cbd. These ratios are what bredders are looking for. That is the genetic marker we can easily find with testing.

Peace

When treating conditions the research that has been done on cannabinoids shows varied results depending on ratios and potency. We simply do not have enough information on the Endocannabinoid system and how the cannabinoids react with it to determine if it is worth breeding cannabinoid specific strains. The most promising research by doctor McAllister shows that cannabinoids treat cancer more effectively when together. He is the only US researcher currently awaiting FDA approval on human trials. Human trials by Dr Guzman were inconclusive when using only THC he had a very limited test pool 8 patients I believe and they had all already gone through chemo, surgery or radiation destroying their immune system.

Thanks for the info, glad to hear it. I'm hoping for an Indica-ish pheno since she will be growing alongside 303's Aurora project which is supposed to be straight up Indica, and their Meltdown which I have a report of not being too sativa-ish. Also hoping that my R4 has very high CBD and low THC. While I personally believe that 1:1 CBD to THC is where it's at for pain relief, I want to make a straight CBD tincture for my dad's palsy symptoms... he has an issue with being stoned. Also, I can get high THC bubble from my caregivers which I can then mix with the high CBD oil at any ratio I want. I was fortunate to also have found a pheno of 303's snow goddess in my last grow that yields very heavily with a laboratory verified 8% CBD to 8% THC. Tastes like buttered popcorn too :-)

Bubba they are not replicates of mom. Similar. And about the phenotype expression, all were indica leaning as growth habit is concerned.
Expert grower? Its fucking cannabis. I have my doubts about this variety.
Our R4 went into flower 3 days ago.... we shall soon find out.

There is no pain relief for me at a 1:1 chronic back and hip pain are not helped. If I am high enough I sort of forget about the pain, at least distracted enough.. Not the case with 1:1. Good luck bubba.

Greenpeak I couldn't agree more about the lack of understanding. Time money and research will tell us soon enough. Just need to change federal scheduling and mission complete!

Have you tried smoking the oil of a 1:1? If not, you should give it a try seriously. I have chronic pain also L4/L5/S1 sciatica and have been hooked on percocets multiple times and used to get the cortisone shots into my vertebrae. The 1:1 works for me to an extent - nothing's perfect, but I haven't been at my doc's office begging percocets or getting needles stuck in my back either, so my opinion is that it works. Granted it don't kill the pain like hydrocodone, but it won't shut down your respiratory system either if you get a bit too much...

@bubbagineer I may have to let go of my disdain for oil to find relief. Have you tried cold water? I guess oil for medicine not a bad thing, just think mostly as the difference between a beer drinker and hard alcohol user. Not the best analogy but I feel is fairly appropriate. I will look into this.

Merry f'in Christmas all!

Do you mean ice water hash? If so, yes my primary means of getting the concentrate is bubble bags, which I then use for a tincture.

Merry chrimmas everyone. I'm off to set up a WE-u game? Never heard of it lol

Did you see the bill that the Governor is backing trying to put 5-7 million in research grants into the colorado community? I heard about it somewhere just can't remember right now and I have not seen much on it since.

Have you tried the RSO oil with a 1:1 or maybe try a 2:1 THC : CBD It always takes a while but my patients do better with ingestion over inhalation. I have seen people hallucinate when given too much very potent at around 70 % activated cannabinoid content.

I haven't made an RSO, but I can't imagine it being more efficacious than the tinctures I make. I've wondered what mega doses of CBD would do.... hallucinations huh? I ain't had me a good trip in better than 20 years.... sounds good to me.

FYI... I started 2 meltdowns, each germinated. Also started 5 Aurora, one out of six didn't germinate yet.....

on the other hand, I gave 2 R4 seeds to 420c and he said neither germinated. I just tried 2 more with no germination and am now on my last 2 seeds from Greenwerkz.....:cuss:

They better germ or I'm gonna express my displeasure to those folks.
