During the works of this thread I think we as a forum were lacking in philosophical certitude, but I see we have a larger basis of people who take to the thought of higher learning.

Any thoughts on the predisposed facilitation of drugs fella's ;)

A little off topic with the schoolgirl nonsense... Not that I mind of course.

The way I see it is we can't examine how drugs interact with society without first defining what is meant by "DRUG". Drug is such a dirty word in my opinion because nobody can be sure what is meant by it. Are pharms considered drugs. In my opinion, yes. Is cannabis a drug? In my opinion, No. If I don't consider weed a drug, Do I consider alcohol a drug? Maybe.

The world is essentially made up of various chemicals reacting. Your body (chemicals) reacting with everything in the world (other chemicals) Where the magic happens is where chemicals create consiousness. Nobody can really answer why we are consious but the fact remains we are, unless everything is just a figment of my imagination and I am but a thought floating in oblivion) but for the sake of arguement lets assume the latter is untrue.

A defination of "drug" could be: any chemical that interacts with and changes the normal function of your body. Well what would you consider changing the normal function of your body. Does food change the function of your body? Kinda.., it gives you energy. So do stimulants which I think everyone would consider a drug.

Now to be real there is no strict defination of a drug except you know it when you see it.

Today not a whole lot of people know the real truth about drugs. And the real truth is represented in the views and opinions of people on this site and people like people on this site. Some people don't like drugs some do but society at large does not like drugs and that's why most are illegal. If only people were educated bluntly and honestly about drug history and why different cultures use different drugs for whatever reasons than everyone could make their own educated decisions about drugs. Some may choose alcohol, some weed, some might dabble in psychedelics. The majority would probably choose alcohol in my opinion, a good amount would still decide not to do drugs ever. But at least that decision would be based on facts. I think if we honestly examined human history with drugs and taught it to our children along with dangers of drugs than addiciton among our society would drop. If people only knew that they shouldnt run out and eat an eight of cubensis then go to a party cause it will be cool and they will "trip out" than maybe mushrooms wouldnt be seen as a psychosis inducing drug. Maybe it would be seen as a powerful respectable substance that some people can handle and some can't but it can give you understanding of the universe. If we had blunt honest education about drugs in our schools than we as a society could develop an honest opinion on drugs, one that is not based on propaganda but based on education.

But sadly our society shoves under the rug any information that isn't overtly anti-drug leading us to be uneducated on the subject, assume all drugs are bad and never indulge regardless of the enlightment that can be reached. Conversly it leads some to try drugs based on curiousity or pushed by the stigma our society creates on drugs, maybe they are trying to rebel. Our lack of honest drug education leads people to misuse drugs and not get the potential life changing benefits.

And that is all i have to say about that.
