If I don't know the answer I will find it for you.

I will have to look it up give me about 5 minutes (maybe longer I'm pretty stoned right now)
Ok what I found is this:
1000 watt HPS
Lumen = 110,000 - 130,000
Color = 2000 Kelvin
200 watt CFL = 800 watt indecent
Lumen = 23,520
Color = 2700 Kelvin
130,000 / 23,520 = 5.5 something. So 23,520 x 5 = 117,600. Should be ideal. So it will take you 5 to supplement the missing light from your HPS. Hope that was well written lol I said I was stoned :D
Little bit of light reading. (my sources so to say)

http://boards.cannabis.com/indoor-lighting/140735-answers-about-cfl-hps-how-much-light.html

Dude your a pimp. Thank you. I guess I'm honestly just another lazy ass that won't look shit up myself, yet normally I do haha. 5 cfl's staggered within my 3 k's offset should boost me back up to the same yield, I just wonder how much juice each 200 watt cfl uses and how much a 5 x 200watt cfl setup would cost approximately...
5 Cfls x 200 watts each = 1000 watts bud :D

Need cooling help for an hps600. Temps are almost at 100f.
I will have to look up the thread but I know there is 1 here on RIU that is a very simple very easy to build DIY Cool Tube. Give me a minute and I will look it up. Thought I book marked it but guess not will have to search...

Found those links. Didn't find the RIU DIY but here is the others I seen...

Hope that helps
I meant electrical usage in kw's but thanks, no need to reply.
That's easy dude lol I can give that to you in a minute
200 watt bulbs x 5 bulbs = 1000 watts x 12 hours a day = 12,000 watts a day x 30 days a month = 360,000 watts a month / 1000 (Kwatt) = 360 Kwatts x your electric cost
OR
200 watt bulbs x 5 bulbs = 1000 watts x 12 hours a day = 12,000 watts a day x 365 days a year = 4,380,000 watts a year / 12 months = 365,000 watts a month / 1000 (Kwatt) = 365 Kwatts x your electric cost.
Then you can times the last digit by how ever much your electricity cost is. Like mine is $0.13 per Kw hour and I use this formula for a rough figuring and about 90% of the time it's dead on...
200 watt bulbs x 5 bulbs = 1000 watts x 12 hours a day = 12,000 watts a day x 30 days a month = 360,000 watts a month / 1000 (Kwatt) = 360 Kwatts x $0.13 = $46.80 per month
Hope that helps and you already knew I would reply Idk why you would say not to :D

Does Dutch Master LL and Penetrater increase yield? I know it increases growth speed. I know if you increase growth speed you can do more harvets per year so technicaly it does increase yearly yield.

I would like to know for one yield does DD LL and Penetrator increase yield.

Wondering if anyone can answer this one. Brown discoloration on first set of fan leaves (from second node) 24 hours after topping. Discoloration started on inner part of leaves, not tip or edges, and doesn't seem like it is centered around the veins. After some research i can't figure out what it is. It is not on the growing tips. below is a link to more info about the problem. many reps for right reply.

I ask what the P levels are in those 2. I haven't used them but the higher the P in your N-P-K the better it should help the buds in size. Say you get a super bloom (generic name can't remember what the real name is right now) it would have 0-50-20 and it would be a boost in blooms. Hope that helps if not just rephrase the question please...

Well welcome to my thread and I will look into this and edit as soon as I have something to give ya :D

Looks like bug damage dude. Check the underside of the leafs and make sure to hang some sticky strips or papers up. If it's not bugs I would say probably Ph fluctuation. Do you Ph your water before feeding it to them? Try plain water for a couple waters and Ph it to 6.0. It should help if you don't find bugs try that. Hope it gets better keep me informed please

hey joker, i have a pc case grow area. sometimes i get like water droplets on the tops of the leaves. is this just the condensation from between leaves or is it something bad?

I've got a question about my plant. It's been in flower a little over 10 weeks. It's bagseed but it looks to be pretty much sativa dominant. There's a lot of cloudy trichomes, but still a lot of clear trichomes, and maybe 1 out of 100 has a brown/amber tip. I'm trying to decide when to chop it, but there's some more conflicting signs from the plant. Just about a week ago, a whole bunch of brand new white hairs popped out of the top of nearly all the buds, but pretty much all the hairs below these new ones have turned orange/red and curled into the bud. The top of the buds (where the white hairs are) is bright green too, like its brand new growth. To top it all off, it's started to get that "done" look, where a lot of the little leaves on the bud start to get really dark green and look really tasty :p So, what the hell is up with my plant? I'm concerned with the fact that I still see a LOT of clear trichomes. I don't want to harvest it too early... and I don't wanna wait too long either.... just a lot of conflicting signs from this plant and I'm hoping for some help.

I'd post pics if I wasn't so paranoid... so sorry about that, I tried to describe it as best I could above.

It's possible it could just be the ambient combined with the grow case and creating condensation but I don't know your ambient either. Do you spray? If you spray inside of the grow case and don't have fans on it could be just left from when you sprayed. This is somewhat puzzling to me also as I'm not too familiar with small grows like that.

I had this predicament on my previous grow actually. What wattage are you running as I think this was the issue I was facing.(low wattage) If you're running 400+ watt hps then I think it may be that they need another week. You could try to give them some UV during the day (near a window or something would work) and it should develop the trichomes slightly quicker.
the plant came out of the ground 4/01/10 it was grown inside for a week then put outdoors
So let me get this straight... You started the plant outdoor and brought it indoor then back outdoor. Was it indoor for 2 months? What lights did you use for indoor? Help me out buddy lol It looks to me like either shock of outside->inside->outside or you grew it under a bad lighting... Hope that helps...

It's not a nutrient. It's a folier spray that opens up the cells that take in photosynthesis so that the plant can take in more llight/lumens. It was proven to work and University tested.

I'd be more concerned that that little twig might not hold a bud lol. You should allow it to grow some and see it get healthy before worrying about flower. If you bought the seeds from a seed company they probably have a more accurate answer for that. Most outdoor plants produce between Oct. - Nov. Some shorter some longer.

I would probably give it a try then and see how it goes. You should let us all know what happens as I'm interested :D

Well I would actually have to ask what you are running. Is it DWC, aeroponic, hydroponic, or drip? Differences being DWC (Deep Water Cultivation) is growing in water and feeding air through pumps. Aeroponic is a circulation of water from the res pumped to the plants and back to the res. Hydroponic is growing in air and feeding water through pumps and sprayers. A drip is typically 4" rockwool or stonewool cubes with a drip system that is on 3-5 times a day. Let me know what you are growing with and I will be able to help a little more bud. Sorry about that

I'm using 7 20-23 watt CFL's, so about 150 watts. I only have one plant and it's a little under 2 feet tall. I could try that I suppose, I think I might just start cutting it down little by little over the next week or 2 and see how each bud is, to give me a better idea for next time when to cut down.

Well you could keep her in flower for months technically. If her colas are ready then take those and wait for the next set of buds to "ripen" :D I just cut some today too. I didn't realize it but I let 1 of mine go too long and she got some beautiful amber trichs now for that I I'm happy :D Got a bud the size of a 1 liter pepsi :D

Well given that my plant is almost 10.5 weeks in flower.... I think it probably couldn't hurt to start cutting. Am I right to say it's better to pull early than to pull too late? I'm not really a fan of couch-lock and I'm seeing a lot more amber trichs today. The white hairs are the minority too... probably about 70% brown hairs 30% white hairs.
