^^Well with an invitation like that, I wouldn't miss it for the world. Will we be re-inventing the wheel or just changing the course of humanity?
Hey maybe all-of-sudden cheap Chinese encapsulated leds with efficiencies in the teens will hit 2gpw and make buds sparkle like tree frogs!:-P

I'm wondering what these middlemen will come up with next to attach to their Chinese led panels? co2 /rh/temp/monitors? Wine Bottle opener! me likey.....lol......anyways I'm sure they'll find some new thing to hide the fact of below average emitters used..

I'll say this again for the hundredth time, the most important component in an led grow panel is the LEDS! Shocker, who would of thought;-)

The us zones with the most crops/tonnage per acre are with the longest daylight hours.......another big surprise, last time I checked light is a big factor in photosynthesis, but wtf do I know. You wanna save money and grow big buds? Their is a big ass star outside that will do just that for you.

If he wants to do the community a favor then test an illumitex neosol/radiant optiq not some Chinese panel with fancy knobs.....IMO

My 2c and rant over

I'm curious, what panels or brands is everyone using? What does everyone consider the BEST led panels on the market right now?

IMO........"best" unproven on cannabis:P

edit: DIY panels are at the top obviously when using current high quality "chips"

hello. I am planning to buy leds to make my own panel.
I have a 4x4x6.5 tent '. How many need to take the entire space of the tent? Which are recommended? I have read that Osram and Cree have good relation price / performance, is there any particular model that is better than another? And where recommend buying?

thanks in advance

Hi everyone. I'd like to build a 730nm array so I can do some daylight manipulation but I can't find any quality and/or affordable 730nms so I'm thinking about DIY and going with this Taiwanese company's offering but I have a few questions.
Are these diodes nm's tight enough? The one's at Mouser run from 715-745nm and I'm wondering if that coverage will cause any problems? I was under the impression horticultural grade diodes were usually 10 to 15nm max. I don't want to fuck my plants up. At least not any more than usual :). And how many do you think I would need to cover a 4'x4' max area. I know you don't need a lot to put the plants to sleep but these are considered 1 watters (350mA) but I figure I'll run them at 580nm since I'm not too concerned about efficiency but then again I will need to be careful about cooling if I do so maybe it won't kill me to actually buy a 350mA driver.

http://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/Everlight/ELSH-Q61F1-0LPNM-JF3F8/?qs=8mcwQFjNnDXloVf9ISg0kw==

Mw 125, 715~745nm, 1.75~2.95 fV

Anyway I hope someone can help. I'm so bad with this LED shit. Ahhhhhhhhhhhh!

OSRAM and CREE LEDs are both considered to be top notch in the horti world along with a few others like Philips, Nichia, Bridgelux and some others. OSRAM is a bit better for monos and CREE for white, though these things are subject to change. And there is no magic wattage number for LEDs like HPS. You basically decide what you want to use first and then decide how much wattage you'll need, though there are much better ways to measure a LEDs growing potential. Mouser.com, DigiKey.com and Newark.com are good places to start shopping for LEDs. And don't leave COB LEDs off your list.

can i use just red and blue less only without using a white led if i have the right temp.
Yes you can use R+B only but it isn't recommended anymore since modern whites add so much intensity and spectrum to your grow area. Not using both is cheating yourself IMHO but there are some tremendous white only grows going on.

Thank you very much for the reply. But I think I'm very newbie in this technology , and as a first step , I think it would be best to buy one, and from this begin to know this bright world.

I 'm from Spain and I found homemade LED panels with good components and prices.

For the features , you believe to be good ? I intend to buy 3 TGL 100w (real) for my 1.2m2 tent .

http://www.todogrowled.com/productos.html

TGL 100W
Our new product designed to lower the price and increase the wattage while still using the best LEDs. In this case a combination of CREE and OSRAM .
Aluminum heat sink ( 80 x 10 x 1.8 cm) , high quality electronic components and 40 3W LEDs .

With its 100W ( REAL) the TGL 100W are able to produce light that plants need to waste power if colors are unnecessary for them Its spectrum per module , is the following , which serves both to growth and flowering:

3 red 660
4 red 630
1 Blue 470
1 auzl 445
1 White 6500 ° K

GROWING AREA : 120 x 60 cm.

^^^Uhmm thanks for that commercial break from Be My Lollipop PetFlora. The only lights in the world that work . Got any answers for beginner growers? How about you delete that thread crap like you make peeps do when they change the subject in your thread, which is where this post belongs or in LED Users Unite? Don't want to be a hypocrite, right? Or are you special?

Anyway DrMarcus I have limited experience with that tech. I tried to use a similar setup and mine wasn't too successful but I only tried with CREE XPE whites and I don't think they were as efficient as you need. Those lights get very hot and most of the time the driver is underpowered just so they don't burn up. But again things change rapidly with LED and those might work fine. If I were you I would just make sure I can return them.

Apparently you failed to read the title of this thread.

OR, we understand the English language differently
