Actually 600W of either BridgeLUX Vero or Cree COB would be adequate for a 4' x 4' grow space, given all 600W of dissipation is 40% or more efficient. As far as spread, that's a totally different discussion, as no COB-infused lighting systems are currently offered that address the ability to spread light across a given space the way we would like them to as growers . Also, the question the other member asked was involving a 3' x 1.7' x 5' grow space, not an 4' x 4' x 5-7'.

Again.. my input was intended to help someone out with choices rather than turn into a who's the most rightest competition...

I could care less if someone uses 600watt in a 4x4 or 800! I know 600watts will not maximize potential.I know his area was 20inches x 36inches. But when we talk watts don't we compare it to a 4x4 area! would you put less than 4 optic 200watt units in a 4x4???? Nice looking bud ya got there!

Optic fixtures aren't the only lighting choices out there, and 4' x 4' isn't the only growing space, hence the watt per square foot standard.

Hey guys, I got just a quick question, I wanted to build my own cree cxa or cxb or vero 200w setup/4cobs for my small medical grow. I just have this good opportunity to get this light really cheap, I thought about using some parts or using this light for some time, this company making costum lights, they optimize the setup to your needs. The basic specs :

I wanted only 2 bridgelux 3000k and 2 4000k chips. Is this good spectrum for good for growing and flowering?,or should I tell them to make 3x 3000k and one 4000k? I want to use it to grow my cbd meds, my skills are not bad. I want to know if it can produce decent yield and quality meds or should I rather invest in the costum setup. Is there an option to make equal costum setup with veros or crees, good production and efficiency for 170-200usd? Thank you guys for any opinion on spectrum or any suggestions.

Very Nice work man! a mix of 3k and 4k would be best in my opinion!

I'm building a grow tent right now that I plan to grow two or three plants in. It's about 5'x3'x2'. I'm thinking that an LED light will be the better choice because it should give off less heat inside the tent and in general an LED requires less of a power draw. I don't have experience with LED grow lights though so please correct me if I'm wrong on that. Can someone recommend a good light for my situation? I'd like to be able to use one light for both grow and veg if possible. I'm planning on having a pulley system to keep the lights at a good height throughout the grow. I think I'm probably looking at the $400-$600 range, but feel free to suggest anything of any price if you think it's a good choice. Thanks

The problem with such a short space is you need something without lenses unless you use short pots and do a scrog,even then it will be tight. Your best choices would be DIY COBs or something like this.

Just buy the opticlighting 200watt. My trees grow right to the unit! It wont burn or bleach! If u want take the lenses off! Area51 comes out maybe this month maybe next. who knows. keep airflow over your canopy vero29 4000K. I don't recommend the optic 120watt but this might be a case where 2 , 120watt optic vero could be used! Def use 4000K too keep the height down as much as u can and use predominatly Indica genetics! good luck!

Mobile spread was the target, Jimmy. Users will be able to move COBS (Vero 18's) across lengths of 20-43 inches, depending on which series they choose (4, 6, & 10 series).

Pricing will be similar to Optic models as well :hump:
