yes major upgrade. I just upgraded a progro 260 to the same light and in a half hour the new growth was crazy lol. I am getting two more tasty lights soon I am so happy with the first. My old light can collect dust as a backup.
Thanks, so running 1 of the tasty led, I could get more penetration and yeild than using both of my 300w mars at the same time? I've been getting good yeild running both of them but trying to get more out of using 1 light and keeping the heat down. Running the 2 mars and 1 tasty together I believe I would have real issues keeping the Temps down in the tent.

LMAO, I'm sorry I don't mean to poke fun, "pro grow' that sounds like something out of the late night infomercial line up.

this company claims to have a single 500 watt COB(its what in the picture)

lycan: he has 3 in stock right now.

The tasty led correct? Would running 1 of the tasty be better than running 2 of my mars 300w or would I need 2 of the tasty. Also is grows target any good. Sorry for all the questions just wanna make sure I make the right choice.

like whoa, are you using a tent? or something else. every with all three of those, I cant imagine it being to hot. need to upgrade your ventilation.

try just running 1 mars and the t2.

Yes a 2'x2'x5'. The Temps run any where between 75-80 with 2 intake fans, 2 exhaustscba and 2 8" oscillating fans. I have my ac on 70 degree also.

No cobs, just 2 marshydro 300w (60x5w). Really been wanting to switch to the cobs, but want to just buy 1 light that will out do the 2 mars I have now.
I think a 4 cob light would out do the Mars. Par watts are probably 75 or lower on 2 Mars 300's. The par watts on 4 decent cobs would be around 100

Do you have any recommendations? Would like to hear you input.
you need to find a cooling solution. TBH it would be best just to buy a bigger tent. what you have now is...well a death chamber for plants.

its not uncommon to have heating issues, but with two marshydo 300's you are in small company.

you need to run all those lights and keep temps under canopy 70-77 and 77-83 on top. there is variation on these numbers I'm sure its not an exact specification.

ooo bro that one has spider webz!!!!

joking aside, I bet that unit puts out more heat then what we are talking about.
Lol, probably so. I don't have much more room. Might be able to use 3'x3', should I just use the lights I have or still upgrade.

no sense in upgrading if you cant find a solution for your enviro. just run what you have and see what happens. I think you would see lower temps with the t2-2100 but to what end? your just a hot day from disaster. so why spend the 360.00 bucks until you test what you have already get baseline and make corrections.

you need: some A/C or a bigger tent ...hmm with A/C

Hello fellow ROI ppl.. This is my first post here so be gentle with me and sorry for bad english.

Im setting up little grow operation. My grow area is 1m x 1m x 2,5m and I was planning to make my own led lights.
I was thinking 10x cxb3070 cobs with dimmable drivers. Im gonna make two lights, both having 5x3070.
I will attach my cobs to 70cm x 14cm x 2cm heatsinks, one driver for 5xcobs.

Questions..
What driver should I use ? As I told before, I wanna have dimmable drivers.
How many 120mm pc fans should I attach to the heatsinks ? Am I good with two fans per heatsink ?
What is good driver for my fans ?
What holders should I use ? Should I use reflectors or lenses ?

I was planning to order my cobs from here:
http://www.digikey.co.uk/product-detail/en/cree-inc/CXB3070-0000-000N0HAB30G/CXB3070-0000-000N0HAB30G-ND/5124979
Can I get holders/lenses/reflectors from digikey too ?
To avoid huge taxes I wanna order everything from europe (gb or de).

Any suggestions ? Hints/tips ?

Thank you for answering.. ROI diy light threads have been really good info for me. Thumbs up to all of you led grow pioneers.

EDIT: should I buy 3000k or 3500k cobs ? or should I mix 'em ?
