Is 1 piece of CXB3590 3500K is enough to get even 30-50g from box 50*40 cm? I want to use ScrOG and worry about low field of light, diffusion will reduce efficiency.

And could you recommend me driver+cooling system for 1 x CXB3590 and separately for 2 x CXB3590?
Yes, but in a small box you might not want to build that way. Consider multiple tiny cobs, or strips. 50g would be easy, but you could certainly do better.

What's the height? What kind of ventilation?

200 m3/hour channel fan, height = 90cm minus 30cm for MagicAir 250 m3/hour filter and fan.
Currently have two lamps for 55 W each, want to go into LED due to grow speed is very low with my lights.

Big cobs ran softly
You know, this isn't the right answer for everyone, everytime. Especially somebody with 24 inches of vertical space and a 2 sq ft canopy. Unless your prices are so good he can buy a dozen cxb3590s and run them at 3 watts each.

You'll want to spread your light out as evenly as possible, ideally. Or just buy a big cob run softly and have a giant hotspot in a tiny box your plants cant run away from.

Depending on where you are in the world, it can be hard to source either heatsinks or light sources, but that's the best direction.

Funny thing is I have a 6500k DD bin 72v panel 5 cobs running @500ma dimmed to 250ma 60w from the wall please explain this 2x4 tent light 24" away from the canopy and over 70% efficiency.

sure BUT you have about a foot of clearance above your tall plant. wwwpeace only has a total height <24".
that would put the light right at the height of the taller plant in your picture.

In this case even distribution with absolute minimal clearance (inches) above the canopy should have priority. Think T5HO, nextlight mini, Samsung strips, fluence etc.

and oh btw the corners of your tent are poorly lit compared to the center rectangle.

yeah because I didn't buy the heat sink for it I just used what I had lol.

@REALSTYLES, would you kindly try some leaf and buttercrunch lettuce under that badboy from seed?

Are you seeing any remarkable difference vs vegging under say 3500k?
I'm growing Purple Basil under it from seed. It's the plant on the left

Hi Everyone,
I'm looking to possibly build my own LED setup. I have an acquaintance that works at an LED manufacture so I can get a deal on stuff. I'm just having trouble figuring out if they build the correct type of LED for growing. I'm wondering if there are any resources y'all might have to help me figure out what I'm doing. :)

What type of LED to use (are there grades of LED)?
Is there a formula for creating the light spectrum (how many of what color leds to use in a 4x4 flowering area)? Blackdog uses 441 in there 1000w model for example.

Any help is greatly appreciated. I'm looking forward to getting back into growing after a few year hiatus. :bigjoint:

Looking for advice to light the hell outta my 5x9 grow tent.

A. (2) Amare SolarSpec 450's
B. (1) Johnson Maximizer & (1) Johnson CX9
C. (2) Spectrum King SK600's (when available)

what ya guys think? any other options you guys would recommend? this will be a soil scrog grow. Will be a veg and flower tent for the time being but eventually will solely be for flower.

I'd go with Johnson.

Hello,
Newbie here~ I am definitely not an electrical DIY person, my profession is nursing! My grow area will be 5x5 area that I would like to cover nicely with good LED coverage. I am not looking for the cheapest or most expensive lights, just whatever will give me the best coverage, and quality for good growth. Any suggestions will be much appreciated!!! Thanks in advance! Little history here, my husband has epilepsy. Simply can't afford to keep buying anymore as prices where I am located have become insane, no choice but to grow. I have a green thumb, but this will be quite new to me. Plan on autoflower to start and soil...I have read a lot, much is over my head, but trying to make the best decision, and get best bang for the buck...

Amare now offers a 3ft bar Pro 3 (no product page, but email them) 2-4 of those should be excellent

Be careful. My first grow I tried to clone household Succulents in the same room as my girls & cross pollinated my Lemon a Skunk. They turned out to take 12 weeks instead of 8, & still weren't done. Plus they got about x4-x5 bigger then they should have. Freakin crazy I tell ya. I'll dig up some photos from my old phone if anyone wants to see. Total mutants.

Amare, enhanced white. Ask about the new Pro-4's & 3's. The 4's are said to cover 5'x2.5'. So 4 of them would be super lighting.

Hey , same OP, just changed to a more inconspicuous name. Lol so the Pro 4's? Anyone got any pics or info on coverage or what lights they use? Msrp? I just need something to cover 4x8 really well since the tent is 5x9 and I'd like a little room to work around the scrog.

SPECTRUM KING not cracked up to what they say they are?

I really like the Johnson Maximizer but don't wanna spend more than $3000 in lights and two of those bad boys will run me close to around $4000..

These are the Pro-3's
image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg The Solar Pro-4's use the bigger CXB-3590's & are 100 more watts. These above are 32"x8" I believe. The 4's are 36"x9".
Everything should be on the web-site soon. This company upgrades every chance they get. Like right now they're switching from the XP-G2's to XP-G3's for their colored monos. Also went aluminum on the case to lighten it up, lower hieght requirement for closer growing options, & another 2 really cool ones that I won't mention here. But I'm sure he will tell you.
Gotta check my e-mails for MSRP. But your best bet is e-mailing.
-$675 on the Pro-3 , 300watts, MeanWell drivers, top-bin Cree CXB-3070's, XP-G3 monos (5watters), 2'x4' coverage on a single unit. 2 units covers 4'x4'.
-$895 on the Pro-4 , 400watts, MeanWell drivers, top-bin Cree CXB-3590's, XP-G3 monos (5watters), 2.5'x5' coverage on a single unit. 2 units covers 5'x5'.

I saw the SpectrumKing 600 is new. Looks cool but is still just an all white unit I believe. Same with the Johnson. Never heard of SK using top-bin either, leaving a pretty high fluctuation in binning (quality of COB or diode) and again, plain white so no veg option either. Johnson makes good lights I hear though. Just not for me.
I hope this helps. I enjoy helping others if I can as I was lead down many differant paths leading me to buy 3 major lights & comparing them to find out Amare was the best for me. I speant big bucks to figure this out along with many hours of studying info here.
Thing is, if you choose the light that yeilds less, that adds up very quickly to be Thousands or hundreds of thousands less on your ROI (return on investment) Which to me is the most important factor when rating efficiency & product performance. It is a very important decision & not one that can afford misinformation.
GoodLuck! Stop by my thread of you want to see the SE-450 smash on the Hydroponics Hut X5-500. Literally smash it by yielding 2/3 more almost.
-18.5 oz SE-450
-7 oz X5-500
That's with no attention to my grow & a few problems on my part.
Did you say 2 Maximizers would run you around $4000? That's crazy. The SE-450's will outperform them I'm pretty sure, & I never heard of anyone paying full price which was listed at $1045 I think.
