so I'm starting in Rockwool and my main question is when the seed just sprouted if I take my cube out of the presoak,so it's still wet,(soaked) how often should it be watered to keep it from drying out?

Probably around 1 time every 12 hrs. What are you using for light? When too high wattage light is used too close to the cube it can cause it to dry faster....

I have it in a cab lined with Mylar and maybe has 10cfls but my Rockwool is on a black plastic tray covered in a clear Tupperware container

It's hard for anyone to tell you as it depends on your space, but yup twice a day should work. Don't let it dry but stay moist. I put my cube in the hydroton as soon as it germs and flood just to the bottom of the cube twice a day until roots are established then it's once every hour or so.

I recommend to start watering from the bottom soon as the seedlings germinate, this is to prevent algae growth on the top layer of the blocks, witch can be a real pain in the ass and attract fungus gnats.

400 seems high to me, my well water is 250 and it took me a bit to dial everything in. PH was the hardest to get right and stable, I have to add 35ml per 100L to get to 5.7 (85%).

The pH always runs up in every medium, that doesn't mean rock-wool isn't stable. When dirt gets dry the pH also becomes higher and this goes for coco too.

I was talking water not the rock wool and at 400 ppm it's probably going to be heavily buffered. And no my setup, once dialed in stays pretty much where it starts, I do know when to refill as the PH drops rapidly.

Ok so I had one sprout up out of the RW so I made a little bubble ponic setup and the water level is right at the bottom of my RW with a 40-60 gallon air pump in this tiny little setup. I ran straight tap water (400ppm) at 5.6ph, think this will work till roots develop a little? I'll take pics when I get home.
