Believe it or not those buds will swell up noticeably more in the next two weeks…..forget about trichomes for a moment and let the bud get ripe……you’ll get more yield and it will be much better smoke.
I have some autos that have had mostly milky trichs for the last 3 weeks….but the buds are not ripe….just like yours it’s still blooming and the calyces are spitting out white pistils. Once that stops your calyces are usually swollen up and the white hairs will turn color and recede back into where they came from. Then it should be ripe….at that point you have a decent window of time where u can let the trichomes become more amber or chop it.
I see a lot of new growers getting the horse before the cart….looking at trichs on immature plants. The sad part about it is weed picked a couple weeks too soon will still be potent and taste pretty decent if it’s cured right….but compared to what it would have been.

Ok hears the kicker I have to go to Iowa for about hell not really sure could be about 4 weeks. Stupid work. The plant will be taken care of. I was just concerned about the ball and chain having to do a harvest by herself. Thanks

Harvest can be as simple as removing all large easy to get to fan leaves, cut at base and hang upside down. If the environment isn't too hot/dry, that'll give you plenty of time considering your plant still has ways to go.
This. After they are dried they can be bagged or jarred even with some leaves on them. As long as the RH is monitored and in the right range you're ok. Trim them up after if needed.

@Baked460 Looks like you have more than two weeks left. Probably going to be more like three.

I know it’s tempting to just chop it….you’ll have some really good smoke, but the truth is the buds aren’t quite ripe.
i have a grow that’s dragging on and it’s a lot longer than 79days.
I think the seed companies use inaccurate timelines and it influences expectations.
80 days is actually fairly quick for the autos that I’ve seen grown. A lot of the grows get harvested before then but the buds aren’t ripe.
They can be harvested early w/ white pistils still showing and still be great smoke for many smokers. But next level smoke will only be reached if the buds get ripe on their own timeline.
If it were mine I’d keep going, check my trichs frequently, and wait until all those pistils have turned color and receded.
Nice looking buds by the way.
