I'm getting extremely tired of this "medical" front people are using.

I can't get WW any more. Well, I tried buying seeds but they must have been nailed in customs.

There is no real criteria for it; anyone can go to a certain "Dr." and say they feel better when smoking it and boom... you've got your rec. Every time I hear a dirty lazy no good stoner use the word "medicate" or "medicine" I want to punch them in their mouth. Most people feel better when they smoke, otherwise people wouldn't take all the risks and spend all the money to get it, but to call it medicine is just a cop out and an insult to the few people that could legitimately use it medicinally. Please just say you're getting stoned instead of "medicating".

Just because something makes you feel good doesn't make it medicine. I guess I could start referring to Johnny Walker Black as "medicine" cuz I feel better when I drink than when I don't. I'm sure that 95% of you people that "medicate" don't need it and if you argue that it helps with anxiety, etc. Well, they make pills for that. Marijuana is for people with AIDs, Cancer, Fibromyalgia and so on.

Ok, rant over. Thanks!
They do make pills to deal with the anxiety that I suffer from. It is called Xanax, and it has absolutely ruined my life. It has a hepatoxicity similar to alcohol, and is physically addictive like heroin.

So I will respectfully say this...Your opinion is fuckin' wack.

I'll continue to use medical cannabis to ween off of these bullshit deadly pills I've been prescribed, and just laugh at people like you, hoping one day you might slightly understand. Maybe they make pills for that...

I will always welcome with open arms people who want to switch to herbal medicine, and I will guide them along the way. Fuck the Pharmaceutical industry, they murder for profits and they lie for profits.

I recently witnessed my mother pass from esophageal cancer. She absolutely needed medical marijuana. Unfortunately, we live in Texas. If you beg, they may prescribe DEA recommended Marinol, synthetic THC in pill form. You can't grow pills in your back yard, after all.

Top shelf medical-grade cannabis kept me not only sane, but actually at peace, after my mother passed. The alternatives are antidepressants and extremely addictive anxiety medications like Xanax that I see doctors offering my father.

I can't and won't take that poison because I have liver disease. And I can't drink, but wouldn't drink even with a healthy liver. Celestial Seasonings Sleepytime Tea and the kine bud saved my life.

Medical marijuana possibly could have saved my mother's life, or at least prolonged her life and eased her suffering. Because when you're fighting through cancer treatments nutrition is key because appetite is usually the first to go.

Unfortunately for you, understanding this will only come from experience.

I don't see how people could ever smoke marijuana to relax or calm down. It makes me feel like I am taking an LSD trip even with what is basically pure indica. Beer does calm me however.

To be honest, if you need to do drugs, drink, or whatever to calm yourself down then your life is probably the problem and not some mental issue. You live a life you are not designed to live and should adjust your life to suit you. It is like wondering why a tiger looks pissed off in a little cage, it isn't a problem with the tiger, it is because he is in a little cage and that sucks balls. He wouldn't be pissed off in the jungle.

I went through the same experience. Doctor induced addiction to Klonopin (clonazepam) a benzodiazepine like Xanax. I also had been drinking very heavily. Turned yellow, jaundiced, liver failure. Fortunately, I didn't have the disease of alcoholism in me. Once I got the booze and pills out of my system, I was fine, although a little spun-out. At first, I would make a cup of Sleepytime Tea in the evening, something to look forward to at the end of the day instead of happy hour. Living in Texas, and being just out of my twenties, most of my experience had been with schwag. Schwag wasn't helping in this situation because it tends to make you paranoid, and that's the last thing you need when withdrawing from anti-anxiety medication. Sometime later, my friend can into town, asked about dank, so I made it happen. Puffed and was resurrected. You couldn't pay me to drink or pop a pill. Call it shell-shock. But ever sense, I wake up in the morning and feel great. Truly happy and appreciative of life - and the bowl of sticky. That is something most people in similar situations search for and never find.

It's called CBD.....The most effective and safest anti-anxiety compound on the planet.

Strains high in THC and THCV, and low in CBD. Yeh, that would be a nightmare!

I have changed font and size on the OP for legibility. I disagree with the basic premise. Anything that legitimizes weed use is of value in ultimately legalizing it. My own use is a combo of valid medicinal and discretionary intoxicant use. One is not morally better than the other imo. cn
Look, I have had epilepsy and have been medicated by pills for 16+ years. Weed is not fun to me, I smoke to settle my nerves, reduce pain, and sleep. I am just chiming in to remind people that it is a medicine....the strongest one I use and I have a ton of different shit. Needing is not wanting. I couldn't care less if people smoked until Kathy Griffin seemed funny but if you don't want to smoke all the time Kathy Griffin gets real old really fast brothers. There is a moral high ground in that it is not frivolous, it isn't escapism, it isnt addiction. I dont care that everybody says it is not addictive but we all have that friend who goes through an ounce a week. It is not immoral but it is not imperative either.

Yes and they say also, at least at my clinic, that 20% of people have switched receptors for sativa and indica.

Yet, sativa strain are the sources of CBN ( think you mean CBN) I seem to remember, CBD is the breakdown product and not so pleasant.

IAC, different strains mean different things to different people.

Jamaican Lion, a sativa, is high CBN and will put me sleepy in about 1 hr., for example.

ya, there funding from big pharms and incentives to sell percriptions would go down is something that was actually medically effective was introduced all those big pay checks to push drugs that only mask symptoms would go away . . .oh no general doctors are hacks imho . . . and if you are one then take a big look in the mirror and slap yourself for ripping the public off assholes tried to push every drug in the world(not really) on me once they found out i was self medicating with MJ, assholes would have had me catatonic and dependent on highly addictive drugs with heavy side effects 3 years earlier it was we dont prescribe drugs to addicts(heroin addiction long done with)
There it is. Thread over. Big Pharmy. I am insured now but before I could get coverage by ssi my meds cost me 2200.00/month. For 2 prescription bottles.....cant put that in the pipe and smoke it.
