alright well i have been thinking of joining the national guard for some time now but i just dont know if i can basically pull a 180 with my life. what i mean by that is right now i smoke all day every day...well not any more becasue of the guard...but i go to festivals and all that too i guess you could call me a new age hippie...idk im not a fan of labels. i work part-time and go to school when i can i also have a ton of debt from another college that i went to for a yr but right now im not really paying that much of it becasue i dont really make much. i want to keep going to school and the guard will pay for that and they will pay off my student loans from the other school. but theres the issue of me puffing...its something that i love and i have to give it up for a long long time like 6 yrs (unless i want to take the chance of getting caught and kicked out of the guard) but bud also is what puts me to sleep at night ive tried tons of other stuff but nothing works so thats another issue im having.....

i dont really know why im posting this here ive tried to talk to my friends about this but they really werent any help....i need to do something with my life because the way im living it now just wont work for that much longer

you just need to amp it up a bit
you can't let bud dictate life choices
i speak from experience
these decisions will determine the quality of the rest of your life
it sounds like you have found a path that may solve some problems
so go for it with gusto
forget the bud for a while and find another solution to your sleep problem - like a doctor
just say'n, as they say
good luck :peace:

yup. that can be a problem. my wife has that problem. it has been going on for years. she either cannot get to sleep, or she will wake up in the middle of the night, unable to get back to sleep. i don't know how she manages unders those circumstances, but she has.

lunesta and ambien help. the problem with those drugs is they have a rebound effect. they work for a while - like a week or two and then stop working. after a month or more without them, they may work again for a week or so. and she exercises - runs about 6 miles every day. maybe a day off here and there, but usually every day. it's a mystery.

that is exactly what happend to me the ambien worked for about 2 weeks then it just stopped working....its not that i have trouble falling asleep well once in while but thats ok its that when im asleep im not hitting that 3rd cycle the "REM cycle" and thats where you get your true rest from so every night i fall asleep and am asleep for like 6 hrs and i wake up feeling like i slept of an hr or so

Your diet can affect your sleep. A steady diet high in caffeine or sugar will keep you wired without you knowing. I had a friend who drank red bull by the gallon all day, then complained he couldn't sleep at night, so he took a bunch of the prescribed sleep pills aforementioned in your post to sleep. Then he drunk his redbull by the gallon because he lacked energy during day. However, this may not be you but just keep an eye on your intake during the day and see if you don't notice a pattern. Other than that, exercise 20mins towards the end of your day to deplete some physical energy, then try reading a book or doing crossword puzzles while prepping for bed to deplete some mental energy (if its boring for you that's a good thing as well)

Yeah, the caffeine/sugar will do it to ya'. I started a trend of getting a frozen coffee once a week on fridays.. and I would stay wired all the way until that mon. or tues, because I didn't need the extra energy, and me being a night owl of sorts anyway, I would stay up till 2-3 in the morning without signs of being tired..(it was most noticeable when I didn't smoke) There are two types of energy a person can deplete (physical/mental) A person who works 12hrs in the Sun, can be just as or less depleted with energy as a person who sits behind a phone, cpu, & stack of papers after a 12hr day in the A.C. Sounds like you may have some mental energy built up and the Chronic helped you to expend some of that mental energy. Try reading a book, hopefully something you like, it doesn't really matter per se'. But the more substance it has, the more mental energy will be expended in comprehending it, which is good.

Good Herbs can be the mildest medicine.

Fuck ambien, it nearly killed me.

No matter where you go, your shadow is not far behind.

Just remember to put your hand on the mirror anytime you want to share with your best friend.

hmm the mental energy thing.....i like where your going with that because sometime my mind just doesnt shut off and that is deff when the chron helps but that damn 3rd cycle of sleep is what gets me alot of night

but tonight im going to try reading a book to see if i can tire my brain out some....i hope thatll work

if i were to drink (2) 20 oz. bottles of Mt. Dew it would screw up the quality of my sleep that whole night. I have learned to limit myself to less than that per day... and No caffeine for a few hours before bed time.

have you tried Melatonin ? every walmart has it.

, yeah, I was thinking something a little deeper than romance novels, I'm surprised you got almost half way through (you not one of them Twilighters are you?), Jus j/k, I'm going to see "New Moon" once it's safe..,

I would try finding a book that has a little more substance than those. It's just not the act of reading a book, but the amount of energy spent in mentally processing what you are reading that drains you. I don't want to say what your interests should be, but I know there are some topics you find interesting that require a little effort to understand. It can be literature on anything from working on cars, to growing household plants. A little effort of processing and digesting the information is what tires you. Reading those types of books and similar are entertainment and will only stimulate you more and thats why you can't put it down. It's not a bad thing, just not the good intentions of results you are wanting. If you can't find anything as mentioned before, try the cross/word puzzles or, similar types of mind challenging games.

I was just joshing witcha', I figured you was working with what you had. Yeah, good idea to find something you like that is interesting, and just not entertainment. I'm not into Twilight either, I just want to see the special effects mainly, and still I believe I'm going to catch "Ninja Assassin" before I get to see it. Don't forget to check out some puzzle games at any little store for only a few bucks if even that much, if you don't find anything quick. I'm more than sure they would help as well.

, I'm sure I will enjoy it, after another week has passed and the chitterlings are back in school, then I'll catch the morning matinee.
