Ok, I got 4 4' tube floros. Also I got 2 70 watt HPS. ( Its all that was avalible at the time.) Been reading and reading and now I see that the T12 floro lights are not the best and T5 are said to be better. So should I go get the T5's. And can I get them at the hardware store just like the T12's. And will they fit in the same fixtures as the T12's. The lights are about an inch away from the tops. Don't yet have the HPS on. thought I'd wait to bloom.
Seeds are Big Bud and are beautifull little babys now 2-4 inches tall. working on second set of leaves. Five plants total. Space is 24in. x 60in. x 7ft. tall. Air filtration and climate controled. Adjusted ph to 6.5. But I'm using organic MG with added perlite at 4/1. MG nutes at 1/4 and 1/2 doses. Schulz bloom at 1/2 and full dose. :dunce::wall::?:

ok since there has been 69 people that have read this post and not one response, it made me a little nerves about the amount of light I have. I'd rather be safe then sorry, right. So I just got done ordering the Sunsystem II. A 400 watt MH enclosed ballest lighting system. Also, I ordered a 400 watt HPS convertion bulb for flowering. My ventilation is a PC fan, 4" on the ceiling into the attic to slowly vent outside. Now, my concern is ventilation. Someone tell me what you think of this..... moving the 4" fan near the floor as an intake and putting a 8" in PC fan in the ceiling as the exhaust. And I'm thinking that the added heat and venting will cause my watering schedule to move from every third day to everyother day. Does anyone have anything to say about that.

don't give your plant(s) any nutes yet, they sound like they are too young for it and you could end up burning them.

yes, typically your intake is towards the bottom of your grow area and the exaust will be at the top. Whether or not your set up will exhaust well enough remains to be seen until you have your new light and everything set up. Keep an eye on your temps!!

You will see a hell of a diff with that sun system 2! Your plants can handle nutes irhgt now just mix it up half strengh

well I have already started the nutes. they were at there third set of leaves. the first hit was at 1/8 strength and 7 days later was at 1/4 strength. I'm watching them very closely and at the first sign of burn I'll be ready to flush. I can't wait to get this light. It seems even with just the floros tho, their like little bushes. I think on the next grow I'm going to set up for clones using the floros. I'll try to get some pics up so you can see em'. That way someone can tell me how their really doing. But I do think their doing well from what I've seen so far. thanks

As a rule of thumb, I recommend at least 100w per plant, so a 400w HPS with both of the other 70w fixtures would be fine for six good plants.

And if you went for T5, make sure you got the T5HO lamps, not regular T5 lamps.

So can some one give some words about my babies, good or bad. and also what kind of yield im going to be lookin at. still waiting on the sun system II. The strain is big bud. any tips. I'll be going with the 1/2 straigth MG this friday. and their growing about 3/4 of an inch taller every 24 hours now. I plan on flwoering in to more weeks. I think Im going to flush before the next feeding and flush again the next week when I start the bloom nutes and start 12/12. hows that sound ? someone talk to me man. Ok, I just put in the Sun System II. Right now I'm runnng a 400 watt MH. They just got their last bit of food for the vegging. Next week I'll be flushing and givin the girls bloom. Also switching to the 400 HPS. that'll be 6 weeks for vegg. I'm using the floros I have for the underside. So I think I'm running about 48000 lumens now. The ph remains 6.4 to 6.8. temp at 76 and humitity at 45%.
Heres the lastest pics!! Peoples with experiance, what do you think? Any comments?

Ok all you pros, I don't think my babies are doing to well. The fan leaves are turning yellow and brittle. And falling off. And it seems that they streched the hell out as soon as I put the 400w in. And the new growth on top is praying.
So I don't know if its maybe overfertilizing or a N defitioncy or a salt lock up. Also stem is showing red. I'm going to put up some pics later today. I hope someone can help me. I feel so bad for them right now. their my babies and I've lat them down.

You have a pH issue. Nitrogen def and obvious magnesium def - pH lockout.

Try to get your pH to about 6.3-6.5 in the soil. Something is causing a major lockout.

Flush. Flush. Flush some more.

its been eight days into flowering now and there has been 2 confirmed males. So, now im down to 3. I flushed the hell out of the three and also foliar feed. Learned a few lessons thus far. Their really not doing that great IMO. My ph is right now but I hope its not to later. I think they just look so spindely. I'm even a little imbarast to put any more picks up but I will in the morning when they wake up. til then ........:joint:

Bubble bucket? Are you talking about a hydro system? For my next grow I was think about spitting my room into two for veg and flowering. It would be a stacked closet with mom and her babies on the bottom.

Indeed, I mean a form of hydroponics. Bubble buckets are so simple to maintain and in reality as long as you know what you're doing and know what your water is like, all you honestly need is a pH test indicator kit and some pH up and pH down, and nutes. I have no PPM/EC/TDS meter and everything I'm growing from basil to tomatoes grows just fine!

As for your pics - note how the leaves are a light green and the bottom leaves are turning yellow/brown - this is a hint of nitrogen deficiency. Plants take nitrogen from older leaves and put it into new growth, so to keep lower leaves green you have to keep supplying nitrogen.

Week eight now has passed. And I just don't know what to think. I've start flowering now for the last two weeks and my expectation are met. Still having problems with the lower leaves turning and wilting off. I'm now using schultz bloom. It's 10-54-10. Mixed at half strength and going to all three evenly on evertother watering. Since I've had ph problems, I think I'm going to need to flush every two weeks. Does that sound ok? I'll post some pics later today.
