hey I am all about pricey and semi useful! hahaha
Me too  I'm currently shopping a new truck I probably wouldn't put 1000 miles a year on but I like having the ability to haul my own 'stuff'. I feel your pain

Really "headie kids" use ISO and 2 separate nail and pearl sets that they swap between every dab or 2 so that they always have a fresh setup ready to go. They also use laser thermometers to make sure they are dabbing at their ideal temp and not chazzing their fancy banger.
Ill just stick with me enail rig ;)

I don't blame you. I've been a glass blower since 2014 and I've watched a lot of these processes kids have developed. I don't have the time or patience for all that. I really like the nectar collectors like Curious was talking about, but since I moved to OR I've been mostly using the "cold start" tech. I consider my banger disposable. I give it a quick wipe out with a paper towel when I take a dab but that's it. Then when it's time I buy a new one for $12 and move on with my life lol.

I have been in many sesh circles where it takes 45 minutes for everyone to have the first dab because of all the fooling around with cleaning everything perfectly. In some cases I kinda got it, we were smoking out of $10k+ rigs but even then its the nail they were cleaning not the rig. I can't see the sense in spending hundreds of dollars on nail that WILL eventually get ruined at least in my world where I don't spend 10 minutes taking one dab.

I have a very small rig with an axial mini enail and titanium or quartz bucket that is removable and cleanable. I alternate between the two and i know what temp im actually dabbing at (super important) you can tune out certain terpines, and cbns or cbas depending on heat. Like if i dont want to be couch locked and get the munchies i dab at a temperature that makes it so the cba isnt there when i vape it so then i dont get stuck and dont get the minchies. Nectar collectors are ok if you like one temperature and dont really care what youre inhaling. But there is a reason temperature is important. The effects of your cannabis can be completely different at different temperatures even with the same strain. Here is the one i use https://www.pulsarvaporizers.com/products/axial-mini-enail-kit and its been out in my garage for two years surviving the heat of summer, and the cold of winter (colorado.) i can make an indica feel like a sativa with it, and can make a sativa feel like an indica with temperature options. I can tune out the munchies by using 400f makes it so the cba isnt vaporized (great for me cause im a gym rat.)

Whatever floats your boat man :). I've never seen or heard of anyone changing the effects of what they vape with different temps. I've only experienced it being done to "maximize terps" or keep the banger cleaner. But again whatever works for you is the best way for you to consume. Maybe I "don't care what I inhale" as you put it, but really I enjoy cannabis in all forms and prefer a full-feeling well-rounded high from whatever I'm smoking.

I don't believe in "harvesting plants early for a sativa high or late for an indica high" either. I've grown thousands of plants of many many different varieties, and I'm a firm believer that if you want an upbeat high go ahead and grow a sativa if you want a stoney high grow an indica. If you harvest early you will get less high, and weaker effects for that plant, if you harvest when its ripe you will get more high and reach the full effects OF THAT PLANT. If you actually manage to let the plant grow past the harvest window(which I've never seen done on accident) then yes you would have higher cbn content and it would be more sleepy effects.

You have a hobby, you are also an avid collector. A curator of curious cannabis consuming contraptions collected for the common connoisseur's contentment

I like your style man.

I have a Puffco and a Volcano with the same intention of having "gourmet" options of smoking. To treat oneself to these is a privilege of age of sorts I suppose.

At the same time I find a simple beaker bong with some nice flower is hard for me to beat.
