Im not saying that this is true of you necessarily. But you point out those are not Socialist countries and I agree 100%. Those countries listed above all have a single payer universal healthcare system among other numerous socialist programs non existent here. So how come that doesn't make them "Socialist". But just a public option here supposedly makes us a socialist "nanny state"?
What may seem best for Europe ain't best for the U.S. Watch how those countries turn out. They are setting themselves up for failure. If you value being told what's best for you and what you can and can't do in favor of having more responsibility but more freedom to make your own choices then there's not much I can say other than I disagree.

it's not so much that they are republicans or right wingers, but that they believe there is a link between all of our rights and that discrimination against any one of us leads to discrimination against us all. the left has become the realm of big government socialism and that is the very sort of ideology that led to this insane prohibition in the first place. our freedom to grow and consume cannabis is just a small part of the freedoms we are constantly losing to the totalitarian tendencies of big government and the responsible use of our favorite herb is just a small part of the greater concept of personal responsibility that seems to have become the nearly exclusive domain of conservative ideology.
Ding ding ding. We have a winner!
