You guys are so gullible it's absolutely cute. No republican is going to vote against trump where it matters, but the ones who need to put some distance between them and trump will make statements like this. And then DO NOTHING.

It's posturing for reelection. Burr and the other reptile from nc are both doing it. All noise and no action.

Put pressure on the press to call them out and hold them to their words. They will slither away like they always do.
Cynicism is a useless negative attitude toward real problems.

You are a cynic. Just curl up in your snail shell and die already.

Cynicism is a pretty natural reaction to the fact most people nowadays do things that only benefit themselves.

Look at the Bernie Babies, they keep shitting on us all for emo attention.

In recent weeks, Congress has moved on a number of fronts to curtail the president’s authority. Lawmakers passed legislation limiting his ability to lift sanctions on Russia and pool the Republican-controlled Senate will not formally adjourn this month to prevent Trump from making any recess appointments, a tactic usually employed when the president is from the opposite party. Amid increasing concerns about Trump’s attitude toward the federal investigation into Russia’s interference in the 2016 election, a bipartisan group of senators introduced legislation this week aimed at preventing special counsel Robert S. Mueller III from being fired.
Window dressing. None of this negatively effects trump. Most of it isn't even legislation. It's process. Or have they passed the bills to prevent firing mueller?

Even if they do, they still have to over ride a veto. It's congressional theatre.

You deniers call it cynicism. I call it historical perspective. Since gingrich began his roll, the republicans have pretty single mindedly been driven by their hatred, rather than an interest in improving anything. They put on a show. Bills get introduced but don't result in passed legislation.

It's happened so many times your head spins. It's still happening.

They won't move against this president in any meaningful way. They will make it look like they are independent of him. Happened with bush too. not unusual.

What is unusual is dems not seeing it. You guys are living in a fools paradise, but in the end, trump will finish out his term (or two). His enablers will see to it.

bro, if you're a constitutional scholar please state your credentials. If you're a gas bag quell the gum flapping. Whether trump can pardon absolutely and whether he might be guilty of non-pardonable offenses is a topic of debate among professionals. Fronting as if you're a SCOTUS justice only highlights the preposterous, know-it-all tone of your babbling.

Sources?

I've stated mine.

Just because you don't like the message doesn't make it untrue. He is in fact above the law if he chooses to go there; no president has, but he would..

We put the president there via the constitution. It doesn't take a scotus justice to see that.

He can and willpardon himself and everyone around him. He won't admit to anything, he will just say he is putting an end to all the pointless and distracting investigations.

Sorry you believe wrongly he can be prosecuted. He can't be. Any of the remedies you alluded to would have to work there way through the courts to the sc. They aren't likely to rule against him, but he will be retired by the time they rule.

And then he has to be convicted. And that is if he is even competent to stand trial. He may not even stay in the country.

It doesn't take a law degree to see any of this. You just can't be so far in disbelief you can't tell a fact from a Frito.
Yet, many legal scholars are busy discussing the possibilities. I haven't heard ANY legal expert express the same degree of certitude that you do about all of this. What are your qualifications?
