Washington Post: Kushner proposed secret communication channel with Kremlin
http://edition.cnn.com/2017/05/26/politics/jared-kushner-russian-ambassador-kremlin/index.html
The video is quite cool

Washington (CNN)President Donald Trump's son-in-law and trusted aide Jared Kushner may have discussed creating a secret communications channel between the Trump transition team and the Kremlin with Russia's ambassador Sergei Kislyak, The Washington Post reported Friday, citing US officials briefed on intelligence reports.

The claim comes from intercepts of conversations between Russia's ambassador and Moscow.
Kislyak reportedly told higher-ups in Moscow that Kushner suggested the proposal in a meeting at Trump Tower -- which former national security adviser Michael Flynn also attended -- in December. Kushner "suggested using Russian diplomatic facilities in the United States for the communications," the Post reported.
The idea was to have Flynn "speak directly with a senior military official in Moscow to discuss Syria and other security issues," The New York Times reported, citing three people with knowledge of the discussion.
Reached Friday, an administration official said there would be no comment on the latest Kushner report.
However, Washington Post reporter Adam Entous said there is a chance that Russia could have intentionally exaggerated what happened in the meeting.
"Kislyak has a good reputation in terms of the accuracy of his reporting, according to the officials that I've talked to," Entous, one of three reporters who wrote the article, told CNN's Pamela Brown on Friday. "That being said, ... adversaries to the United States routinely put false information into their communications. Sometimes they do so in order to see if the Americans are in that channel."
CNN has not yet confirmed the Post's report.
However, earlier this year, in March, CNN reported Kushner had "relationship meetings" with Kislyak and with Russian banker Sergey Gorkov to discuss issues like sanctions. The transition team was looking for ways to establish a back channel to Putin, a source told CNN.
The FBI's investigation into Russian involvement in the 2016 election is looking at Kushner's multiple roles in the Trump administration, CNN reported Thursday.
Reuters, citing seven current and former US officials, also reported Friday that Kushner had previously undisclosed contacts with Russia's ambassador -- including two phone calls between April and November of 2016.
However, officials told Reuters -- and have previously told CNN -- that so far they have not seen evidence of wrongdoing or collusion between the Trump administration and Russia.
"There may not have been anything improper about the contacts," the law enforcement official told Reuters.
Kusher's attorney Jamie Gorelick said his client "has no recollection of the calls as described."
"Mr Kushner participated in thousands of calls in this time period. He has no recollection of the calls as described," Gorelick said in a statement to CNN. "We have asked (Reuters) for the dates of such alleged calls so we may look into it and respond, but we have not received such information."
The Russian Foreign Ministry dismissed reports that Kushner asked Kislyak about establishing a secret means of communication with Moscow. The reports are "McCarthyism or simply internal political squabbles," Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova told CNN in a text message.
CNN's Jeff Zeleny contributed to this report.

G7 talks: Trump isolated over Paris climate change deal

http://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-40069636

Leaders of the G7 group of rich nations have failed to agree a statement on climate change.

Six world leaders reaffirmed their commitment to the Paris accord, the world's first comprehensive deal aimed at reducing greenhouse emissions.

However, the US has refused to recommit to the agreement, saying it will make a decision next week.

Mr Trump, who once dismissed global warming as a "hoax", has previously threatened to pull out of the accord.

This is Mr Trump's first G7 summit - during his first foreign trip.

G7 leaders from the US, Britain, Canada, France, Germany, Italy and Japan have agreed a statement on fighting terrorism.

Why is there no deal on climate change?
The final communique issued at the G7 summit in Italy said the US "is in the process of reviewing its policies on climate change and on the Paris Agreement and thus is not in a position to join the consensus on these topics".

However, the other G7 leaders pledged to "reaffirm their strong commitment to swiftly implement the Paris Agreement".

German Chancellor Angela Merkel said the discussion on climate change had been "very unsatisfactory", adding "we have a situation of six against one".

Mr Trump tweeted: "I will make my final decision on the Paris Accord next week!"

His economic adviser, Gary Cohn, said Mr Trump "came here to learn. He came here to get smart. His views are evolving... exactly as they should be."

Experts Upgrade Donald Trump's Impeachment Odds as Russian Investigation Looms

Donald Trump’s presidency has been clouded in controversy from its very inception, with multiple federal investigations into his campaign’s ties to Russia looming over the White House before he even assumed the Oval Office. Now, it appears his odds of impeachment are growing not even six months into his tenure as commander-in-chief.

The Economist Intelligence Unit, a nonpartisan organization comprising over 100 country experts and economists across the globe, upgraded Trump's likelihood of impeachment from low to moderate Friday, following calls for the president’s removal officially reaching the floor of Congress.

Sources: Comey acted on Russian intelligence he knew was fake

Washington (CNN)Then-FBI Director James Comey knew that a critical piece of information relating to the investigation into Hillary Clinton's email was fake -- created by Russian intelligence -- but he feared that if it became public it would undermine the probe and the Justice Department itself, according to multiple officials with knowledge of the process.

As a result, Comey acted unilaterally last summer to publicly declare the investigation over -- without consulting then-Attorney General Loretta Lynch -- while at the same time stating that Clinton had been "extremely careless" in her handling of classified information. His press conference caused a firestorm of controversy and drew criticism from both Democrats and Republicans.
Comey's actions based on what he knew was Russian disinformation offer a stark example of the way Russian interference impacted the decisions of the highest-level US officials during the 2016 campaign.
The Washington Post reported Wednesday that this Russian intelligence was unreliable. US officials now tell CNN that Comey and FBI officials actually knew early on that this intelligence was indeed false....

Well, I guess Germany dumped us. he's going to irreversibly damage America and we're forced to watch it and can't do anything.

How much evidence does the special committee need to start suspending security clearances; making arrests?

Thanks, Donald!

they say it's just starting and is only going to accelerate now.

not the twitter gossip people, but the higher ups who have actually worked in government, have more reliable sources in both the IC and the media, and are more responsible about leaking bombshells.
I've even heard rumors of some arrests this coming week, probably to good to be true, it a long road.
