Importance of C02 Supplements?

I was reading through High Times Q&A with Jorge and he was discussing the importance of C02 supplementation and how you need to keep the ppm between 1200 and 1500. He mentioned that you can get a hand held C02 meter to test this. I nearly Sh@t my pants when I found one online for $1,700.00. Sooooo, my question is; just how important is supplementing C02? I just dont have that kind of money to run out and buy a meter.

Well I just did and expirement. I always use co2 injection with my aero grows and this time I didnt and well huge difference not using is gonna add 2-3 weeks of time and buds without are a lot smaller. You can get a cheap co2 checker for under 20 bucks but its a use once then buy another attachment for like 8 bucks. Its a little syringe thing with a tester on the end.Co2 is the cats meow.

I have an 8 gallon vat with a hose coming off of it. I will try the water / yeast / sugar deal and see what happens. It has to be better than no substitution at all.

i put a decent sized piece of dry ice in a tupperware container and just let it give off CO2 every other time my plants are in the dark

CO2 is absolutely CRUCIAL there is a formula, i cant remember off the top of my head, potzeimers, anyways the dimensions of the room, once you have the ppm of your room get a co2 regulator hook it up to your co2 welden bottle and set on timer...I don't go through all this crap amymore tho,,i just burn a torch(plumbers)(propane) three times a night for my room its 2minutes per time...4x8 7 foot with 50 plants.

So trust in god cause no one else gave you bud

Well i dont grow in my house I have what I call "places" lol safe spots if you will.My co2 kicks on for 2-3 minutes every hours and then 5 minutes before a new fil my vents suck air out and new air in making the exchange of air then I have dampers that close shut closing the room vents then the co2 timer kicks on. 1 20lb co2 tank lasts maybe 2 weeks at most

I use bottles of yeast and sugar and i notice that they like that.
I would assume that the proper co2 generators help a lot more than that though but my yeast and sugar costs 10 cents not 1700 dollars, for 1700 dollars i would want to see buds that were twice as big at least:mrgreen:

Thats what Im talking about!!!! I have an 8 gallon water tank that hooks on the back of my 4 wheeler. I made up a 2 gallon solution of sugar/yeast and water and have a vent coming off the tank. The way I see it, its better than not having it at all.

I just put the bottles right in the middle of the plants with a fan blowing on it,co2 generators are really for bigger grows i think:blsmoke:

$1700 would be crazy. Figure using a 20 lb tank type setup.I got my used c02 bottle for $100 for 3 of them (this was a great deal figure $100 each used),I got a used electronic solednoid for $65 (good deal new aboyt $145) and a timer that goes minute to minute I got mine for $9 (usually $28) then some hose for $10.Co2 is about $24 a tank here which is high. A co2 generator can be bought used for $200 then all you need are propane tanks about $20 a tank. The ppm meter is the most exspensive thing but you can wing it using the math formula and a flow meter

its not as important as they put it, "NEED". People do accomplish a good grow without it. The minimum co2 ppm should be is 200 ppm, but the air we breath is already 350-450ppm, but if you live in the same building as the plants then it can be higher like 500, so the plant is getting everything it already "need".

That is what I was thinking myself. I did the fermentation just for a little extra bonus, but she has been thriving even before I did that. Sometimes I think I let my mind get out of control and think that I need more than I really do. I should follow the KISS motto (Keep It Simple Stupid.) lol.
