After almost finishing my first indoor grow, I am totally hooked... Started to look for new toys. Built 2 growboxes, but want to try a tent. I have an offer for Homebox XS for 90 USD or a Homebox XL for 130 USD. The small one is 2x2x4 foot, the big one is 4x4x6.5 foot. The thing is, the seller doesnot have the poles for the tents, therefore the price. My problem is the following: Dont know which one should I buy. The small one would be good enough except it is not high enough. The big one is too big for my personal needs, but just a tad bit more expensive.....:D Just want to grow for myself, not a huge smoker at all. (Buying the big one would give me the opportunity to grow for sale later if I need the money)Question is, can I section off half of the big tent and use just 2x4 foot for one big plant with a 400 mh/hps? Or could I grow one plant in the whole tent with one 400 watter? (No sectioning off would mean less cost for poles, material) Using soil, organic fertilizers, a 8 gallon pot, what yield I am heading for? Going to visit seller on Friday, please give me some advice. Thanx for all of the info on this forum. Learnt a lot from growing.

if it were me i'd use the entire tent because he wattage would be the same and that is the main money eater. you could easily make back the extra that you needed for the build but you could always downgrade later, split the tent in half and drop to a 250 hps or somethin

Having more room is always a + in most situations. It aids in dealing with heat and humidity as well as general safety while working in the space.

In short, more options.

you should use all the space an maybe do 3 plants in 3-5gal pots or yea u can do the 1 in a 8gal but imo having different strains is a plus really if its jus for u, I get tired of blowin the same sack after a week or so. I have a 4x5x8 room I built for flowering with a 400 watt hps with 8 plants in there now an they are all doing great, granted on Friday im swapping the 400 for a 1000 I have jus to get that extra boost that we all want, long story short take advantage of the space, I started n a stealth box 1ft x1ft x3ft an was satisfied, then next grow a 3x3x7 closet with two 6ft babies all on cfls now im out for green an stepped it up to a custom enclosure I built around my spare bedroom closet veg side is 4ft x 2ft x 8ft wit 400 wat MH an flower I mentioned above and..... im lovin it

buddy

4x4 and a 400 watt u are golden.........since u are doing the framing u can build to hold in the center and if u are worried u can have a set of 3 cfl hanging down off the walls...or t5s

i am seeing in some of the flowering grow ppl have a line grid for holding them up and spacing them out .....if u make a mid lvl cross bar and drill a line of holes in it u could make a grid system u can put in and take out

or u could shelf system it

mine is the same dia as the big one i have 5 plants in there with more then enough for 4 more if i wanted but i gave it bushing room .....using the air soil bags

just rem when u are doing the frame for your power cord path.....a exhust fan system /carbon filter hangers....i never messed with 400w so rem that system and air cooling it
