Here is a article I found today.I thought I would share it with RIU.I know it has a snowballs chance in hell in this draconian state its more backwards then I care to admit.

MERRILLVILLE, Ind. (AP) — State lawmakers will soon begin studying whether Indiana should amend its drug laws to decriminalize marijuana, create a medical marijuana program or make other changes.
The Post-Tribune of Merrillville reports that the General Assembly's criminal law and sentencing policy study committee will examine different angles of the marijuana issue. The committee's first meeting is next week, though it's not clear whether marijuana laws will be discussed then or during future meetings.

"One day, I watched three young kids plead cases on possession of small amounts," Tallian said. "I thought, 'Why are we spending all of the time and money to do this?' Frankly, I put marijuana in the same category as alcohol."
Medical marijuana is available in 16 states and the District of Columbia, and 13 states have eliminated certain penalties for small amounts of marijuana.
Tallian said she hopes to arrange for people to speak at the meeting when the marijuana study is on the agenda.
"I've got testimony from all different groups," she said. "They keep calling me wondering when it's going to be. I had them lined up when the bill was in the senate — medical people, criminal defense attorneys, prosecutors, law enforcement. There are a wide range of people interested in the topic."

Among the state lawmakers who supported the idea of creating a study committee to examine the issue was Republican Rep. Tom Knollman of Liberty, who has multiple sclerosis. Knollman told lawmakers during the legislative session this year that he wished he could legally try the drug to relieve his pain.
Knollman said at the time that he's among the most conservative of state legislators, but hopes he can be a law-abiding citizen and use one of God's plants.

Al we can do is wait and see.It probably has as much chance as my dogs do of flying.

The only way MJ would even get a chance of being decriminalize is to elect Gatewood Galbraith for gov. As long a Danials is in office, MJ wont have a chance.

How are they supposed to fill up those new prisons? And what about the poor pharmeceutical companies - how will their shareholders feel when their returns aren't as great as last quarter? What about the rich? Let's not forget the Christian Right and the shame they will feel if the flock is able to turn to this pagan witches weed? And them hard working politicians, oh how I feel for them, they really need to get re-elected and continue along with their expense accounts, young virginal interns, tax-payer funded trips to Bali, top of the line medical care and lengthy, over-valued pensions.

My Man Mitch Aint he great. He sells off half of Indiana and then considers running for prsident????I wonder what people think of their man mitch now.I for one can't wait to see him go.I always vote libertarian if I have the option even if that means I'm throwing my vcote away,at least I am voting with a clear conscience of how I wanted to vote and the hell with party lines.Hell both the Dems and the Repubs are the same, cut them open and they all the same inside. Not a nickels worth of difference between the 2 anymore, not in my eyes anyways. They both for raping the working man. While they live off of the fat of the land and on our hard working backs. They get rich while they make us slaves,on a wage that is more and more getting harder to live off of.
Well enough ranting lol.

U people need not hold your breath. Indiana will be one of the last states to change there mj laws. I am willing to bet there wont be a study taking place, and if there is, it would be full of miss information and false statics. Just like all the studies befor it. Remember that lies and misleading info. are key weapons in politics.

Most people with a charge of possession not serving more than 6mo sit around in jail, not prison. Indiana has a bad rap for shitty jail conditions in the bigger cities. Hey with this I&M Money we could afford to improve the condition with a quality contract from Haliburton!
