i was wondering if i would be able to put my grow box outside because of smell reasons? the only problem is the temp cuz it is winter and temps are anywhere from 20-30 farenheit. im thinking this is a stupid question because of the temps but all you experts prolly know the 100% true answer. if this wont work and the lights wont keep the temp high enough is there anything i can do to make it work? i wanna grow really bad for a personal stash so i stop spending $$ on pot. i cant grow inside because my dad has a very strong feeling AGAINST pot. but he will never go in the backyard so if i put a box back there i shouldnt have to wrry bout it being busted. i have 12 26 watt cfls.

The lights would keep it warm, but it would take a while for the temperature to build up in your box.

If you seriously want to do this, you will likely need to redesign your grow box. You would essentially design it like you would be adding an extra room on your house, but on a smaller scale. It would need to be insulated, mainly. Next, you would need to hook the box up to a heater and a thermostat to keep the temperatures where they need to be. After that, you would probably be home free. At that point, you would only need to worry about law enforcement looking around your backyard.

Smell isn't something to screw around with. Even in the backyard (depending on where you live, of course), people could smell it and make some phone calls. In my opinion, and the likely cheaper option, you are much better off leaving it inside and spending some money on carbon filters and odor replacement gels. A lot less stress on you and your plants.
