I have a 2x2x6 room will a 250watt hps do well for 4 plants

nah i already stole 7 metal halide bulbs and people spend hundreds on these fixtures which is stupid, i went to home depot and spent 12 dollars on a metal fixture that is shapped like a cone and u just screw in the bulb n its done plug it in the w all n ur str8. how could some1 be so stupid to spend 200 bills for a 1000 watt metal halide bulb n a fixture man, my advice hit up home depot

I have a basic 120 watt light inside my closet growing five plants in the beginning stages, and its working fine right now for me.

florescent is fine for the whole thin though hp does produce a bigger yield you can do it all with floro's just make sure you get grow bulbs the bulbs made specifically for growing plants they have alot of sizes depending on your fixture and the chart for the wattage above is right but in lamens term a good rule of thumb is one 4" floro fixture for every 2 plants.

ive produce awsome yields with floros i actually prefer floros it dont really depend on the light it depends on the plant i know, i know, i know, you cant believe i just said that.but look at it this way marijuana's a weed it will grow no matter what these people talk about ways to get max yield from the white widow or blueberry strains which are shima strains max yield for a shima is going to be about a quarter pound if you do every thing right with just a good shima some ferts floros and love ive been able to get 2 oz off some
but for that indica strain the shit you find in most baggies you buy on the street your max yield is only about 2 oz with floro on indicas ive got up to that but typically about an ounce. it not really lighting its experience too.
ive got just as much weed off some plant with floros as they have with hps or mh lights just cause ive been growing for 10 years ill admit though it takes about twice as long with floro so i guess patience is the key to virtue. but you can get a max yield with floros just be patient and multiply the time it take for everything to happen with hps and mh lights by two.

CFLs or Metal Halide for Veg stage.
In a small grow 3X3 ft or less CFLs are OK to Bud with.
High Presure Sodium is the Standard for All large grows, and most 2X2 ft or larger.

I added the w/sqft info in your quote to easily show what we need to look for in lighting a crop. The amount of watts that you are putting over each foot of canopy space is the easiest way to compare lighting. And we know from experience that you need at least 40w/sqft to grow decent plants to maturity.

so it would be
2X2=160watts
3X3=360watts
4X4=640watts
5X5=1000watts
6X6=1440watts
7X7=1960watts
8X8=2560watts
for decent growth

so if you want say to veg the plants to fill 4' squared you could have four 40watt frolecent bulbs per plant

also because frolecent lights dont get hot you can have them 2-3'' above the plants

frolecents work for vegging and flowering

There are two options, either he is stealing them to run security lights, LOL, or he is stealing them to grow something.
