Hey everyone i just had a quick question...What is the most efficient fan out there, is it a inline fan or a squirrel cage blower or what? Like whats the quieter of the two? I know both come in all variations of CFM so i know both will work fine for carbon filters. Thanks and +rep for all helpful answers. Peace

It all depends on what you are using it for . If you are blowing air through a flex line for lights use an in line fan. If you need to suck air into a room then the squirrel cage should do fine

I use both, but I regret buying the squirrel cage. The inlines are way more efficient and really wont be a noise issue until you get up into the 700 cfm range. And you wanna pul air through the filter, not push it. Its musch more efficient that way. I use two filters- a can 66 and a can 100

i need it for heat control and for pushing air through a carbon filter
PUSHING air through a carbon filter? You want to pull the air through the filter, and out of the exaust port/hole/whatever. Squirrel cage fans are kinda loud. I'd get an inline of some type depending on your area and carbon filter.

If you have a big space, where being quiet isn't a priority a squirrel cage fan is great. For being covert, not so great.
