Input Needed on My grow room.

Ok, So after about 2 1/2 weeks now, my plants are barely 3" tall with 3 sets of leaves each. I only have. I've grown outdoors many times but this is going to be my first attempt at an indoor grow, usually I just get up to about a foot and transplant outside. I made this grow room in my closet as space is kinda limited at this point, I will be moving in a couple of week where I will have a 12X14 room for this sole purpose but right now what I have it this. I am trying to figure out if it will be worth it and how much worth it if I mount the t12's on the back wall so they shoot straight out at the plants and put an old 100W HPS up above them. It's not that old I would get a new bulb, want a 400 MH/HPS compatiable but that's down the road. (Next grow, low funds now) but would it be worth it ya think, it wouldn't take me but 15 min to get it in and set up, but like I said would it be that beneficial or would it speed up their growth, I'm not wanting a high yield or huge plants this time around, they're bag seed have some seed coming from Nirvana now and when I get back to work I'm going to buy the 400 or more than likely the 1000W hps/MH interchangeable. Also, ofcourse i'm growing in MG pooping soil and would like to know when and how much and what kind of Nutes should I give em. I read A TON of threads on this already but maybe someone out there has something they would like to share. Keep the nutes simple please for this round just wanna get the hang of it. Local stores for nutes, i'm gonna get the FF lineup for the next grow, but for now what should I use. We have no gardening store here to speak of. So it's Lowe's,Home Depot, Menards, Wal-Mart sort of thing. Shitty but hey i'm a carpenter and am just now getting back to steady work. :wall:ROOM.jpg

While we can't see all of the details of the plants in the pics, they look fine. Slight overwatering can cause slow growth. Be sure to let the top half of the soil dry out completely before watering. Healthy, mature plants can survive for weeks without any water at all. The light intensity is also low. The type (diameter) of fluorescents you're using are unfortunately on the weaker end, which is evident in the slight stretching you're getting. You'll want a fan blowing on them if there isn't one already. Enough airflow to cause the plants to vibrate will encourage thicker stems for supporting large buds as well as manage the heat from the lights enough to move the plants closer. For decent growth using those lights, you want the plants no more than 1" away from the bulbs.

Well, I'm a bit strapped for cash at the moment (as mentioned above) No pun intended I greatly appreciate your guys input and help with this matter, but I still need one question answered. Should I bring my 100w HPS in, would it help and how much?

Ok my temp was up0 to 89F this morning when I went in to check on them... Not sure what the humidity is I have to get a meter ASAP but the leaves are kinda "rolling up" length ways that is. Like a cup sort of and I noticed the very tips of the leaves are getting a brown tip to them? In MG potting soil the 6 mo feeding shit! Damn I know right. I just wanted to give this indoor thing a shot, practice with these and then I ordered some Wonder Woman from Nirvana. Anyone know what's up with these plants off hand. I researched and came to 2 conclusions. A.) Overwatering which is not good and to add to it it's time released soil so I could be getting Nute Burn as well. (No water for awhile to try and combat this) OR B.) Too much light and too much heat with not enough humidity could cause this?> So, I added som small PC fans one blowing on each plant it gives off just enough to shake the plants. Added another intake fan and ran my exhaust out into the open room. which is heating the room like a bitch now! Damn it right. I need a new grow room but I'm working with I got at the moment. Anyone know what else could cause this leaf cupping like I explained and anything else I could do with the temp/humidity problem? I have a bowl of water in there already and that obviously wasnt enough so I keep a wet towel in there as well now too. Anything else I could do? I have 3 de/humidifier's that both humidify and dehumidify here in the house none of which get used should I use one of these and if so how would I go about get the humidity it puts out into the grow room because it's just not feasible to put it in there being its a small place at on 4'X2'X69" ANY responses are welcome besides the smart ass bullshit that would make me wanna jump through this PC and smash your face. :finger: lol Keep that shit to yourself I'm new to this indoor shit I've always grown outdoors but these indoors buds are looking damn sexy! ;-)

Humidity is not a major factor for most soil grows. Controlling the airflow, temperature and watering schedule is usually enough to neutralize the negative effects from less than ideal humidity.

Where did you test the temperature? If it's 90 right under the lights but 70 in the rest of the room, then more airflow will even things out. If the whole room is hot, you need either airflow from outside the room or an air conditioner. The cupping you're describing is common with high temps.

Don't use a dehumidifier. Aside from the fact that humidity doesn't need to be a big issue for your setup, a dehumidifier would increase the temperature alot.

Nutrient burn starts at the oldest leaves and works its way up. If you have that problem, the pod leaves and first single-bladed leaves will burn first.

You click on the little 6-pointed star at the bottom-left of someone's post to give rep.

Gotcha. Hit you with the rep. Thanks alot for that info. I started my 20-4 cycle today, shut everything down cept' the fans opened up the windows it was cool out today so it worked out. Temp before shut down were 89F on start up they were 68F now with the systems running for 3hrs temps are staying right at 74.5F so I think this will work out now.
