Intake for new Cab advice sought

Hi Guys!

Growing outside has gone pretty well but I'm making the move to indoor for a while. I just built this cabinet for my new indoor ebb n flow setup and I would like to ask you for advice and pointers on the setup.

I'll enclose a few pics so you can see the basics and take more this weekend when I get my cam hooked up.

The cab is high grade plywood and is 72" tall 29 1/2' deep and 37" wide. We built it to accomodate my tray which is a 2'x3' ebb and flow. In prefab I painted the inside bright white and then used mylar on the sides and top and inside the doors.

The light is a 400 watt switchable mh/hps setup with a super groovey digital NextGen 90v-260v ballast.

The exhaust fan is an Active Air 400cfm and sits on the left side wall of the cabinet and has a big filter that goes on it (not shown, I'll put it together and install that part this weekend). The air intakes are in the lower part of the side walls and are four 4" circular holes with black elbow pvc outside of the box.

My question is about the intake for the light. Do I just leave it open or leave a piece of tubing on it pointed downwards (as it is now) or what am I supposed to do about that part.?

The outside of this is painted a glossy black and fits in pretty well with the apartment, especially when the fan is not hooked up :D

You can leave the light intake open, but the ideal setup would have the filter mounted inside the cabinet and your light's intake attached to that, space permitting.

I have my intake for the light at the very top of the room pointed up and it seems to exhaust the hot air pretty well.

Thank you for replies. All of the advice is welcome, as the babies are coming home in a few days. I'm growing from clone for this season.

So just leave the intake on the light open? I can take the little piece of tubing off. It should be pulling air up over the plants with the intakes set low in the walls as they are. It exhausts into that big piece of tubing which connects to the fan then the air filter to exhaust into the apartment.
