Interrupting/Changing Dark Period in Veg??

I know that during flowering this is a no no as it causes stress and may lead to hermies, etc, but is it OK to turn the light on or for some light to seep into the grow room during the dark period during seedling and veg stage? By that I mean during the 6 hours in my 18/6 cycle, I figured that since 24/24 can be used anyway it wouldnt matter as the more light the better but I would like to be sure as this is my first grow and I dont want to fuck up my plants over something as minor as this after the trouble ive been through already. Also can (regularly) altering the light cycles, eg, 18/6, then the next day 22/2, then 18/6 again or whatever affect my plants negatively. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated

Welcome to RIU :hump:

Now...what the heck are you thinking? Just leave them under normal conditions and off you go.

yes but my grow area is not completely lightproof yet, i was planning to sort that out during flowering, so will it harm the growing process during veg if some light does enter the grow room, will it stress the plants?

i wish someone would answer this question more thoroughly i have the same 2 concerns....does the change from 18/6 to 22/2 to 17/7 affect anything? and does interrupting the dark period during veg matter?
