I think you need to revisit history. If it weren't to rescue Europe, and Britain we would have no need for a launching pad as Germany wasn't bombing our cities. It was our support, unpaid for I might add, that caused the USA to be dragged into the war. It was the passivity of England which brought them to the brink of disaster by Hitler. WW2 left the British economy and infrastructure in shambles, from which they never fully recovered.
There is a very funny movie, "the mouse that roared" with peter sellers in which his character points out that it is better to lose to the americans than to win. He pretty much states that "look at germany, why they came in and rebuilt the whole nation. What we need to do is declare war on them and then surrender!!
classically funny stuff and a great precursor to dr. Strangelove... 
Sellers plays 3 roles in that movie as well.

From what I've read, no one, except you, has said anything about the US being the best since sliced bread, but far be it from me to point out that you are the only one totally pissing on the flag. Others acknowledge we have our problems, but overall it's the best system there is...period.

Besides that Woomeister is under the false impression that the English were the only ones who came here and colonized it. Spain was here FIRST, then followed by Dutch, English, French etc. etc. He needs a brush up on his history.
