is 100watt cob enough for 2x2 tent?

I have 60cm*60cm*160cm ~(2'/2'/5'4''), currently using 250W MH/HPS.
I want to switch to COB LED, mainly for heat and vents noise of the HPS.
Do you think a signle100w cree CXB3590 will be enough ? as available on aliexpress/amazon for ~160$ (sorry cant post a link)
Or should I opt for 200watt (2x100watt)?
I am afraid the 100w is not strong enough while the 200w will be too strong/hot.
I am also considering DIY solution as I am reasonably handy and have equipment for soldering and making framework, but at the moment I leaning towards a ready made china light as international shipping from timber and similar sites is expansive(~85$).
My price range including shipping is maximum 250-300$.
Thanks

You're right in thinking 100w will be a bit weak. 200w will be on the high side but maybe not too much. Build the lamp so you can dim it and you can always turn it down a bit if you need to. You will probably be better off going DIY or purchasing from one of the vendors here. China lamps often use cheap drivers even if they have CXB3590 installed, plus unless they provide binning information you are likely going to get the cheapest bin they could find. Additionaly CXB3590 at 100 watts isn't going to be the best efficiency. You would be better off running them at 75 watts each (2.1 amps) and your efficiency will be around 50%. That would give you a 150w lamp with a reasonable light density. There are also better options than CXB3590 available now.

i use a 200 watt setup in my 2x2 as i have a 2 x 4 tent but my carbon filter takes up a lot of room. heres a few shots IMG_1985.JPG IMG_1987.JPG IMG_1970.JPG IMG_1990.JPG

Only 75 percent full screen, i chopped this bud off early to test potency at day 40 flowering. mistake maybe but i was keen to test. weighs 24 grams wet should be around 5 or 6 gram dry.

What light are you running? Very nice.

To the OP: I would say 150-200w. I'm no COB expert though...lol. I'm running some tests on some Amazon plug n play COBs. Early Veg has only 100w in a 2x2, but if you are flowering, I'd bump that up. You'll probably hear that 40w of COB per sf is plenty though. 150w should work.

Thanks im runiing a home made kit, 4x cxb3070's with fans on each heatsink, runs very cool.about 2 degree C above room temp.
You got the premium package!. I went with the experimental cheap package lol. I made a light kit with 36x 10w cob chips with a big ol cooling fan and a watercooling system in a 2x2 .supplemented with 20ft of vertical blurple led light strips

My tent is 2x2ft or 60x60cm.
I grow with 4xCitizen1212 for a total of 150w during flowering.
I would suggest you to get a diy 200w system and plug in a dimmer.
I'm from eu and got my equipment from kingbriteled, an alibaba store for less than 200 euros.

150w, 50+% system efficiency, comparable to 1 Quantumboard, for 100-120 bucks incl. dimmable driver

- 4x CLU048-1212C4 gen.5, 3k/2x CRI80 and 2x CRI90, ~40$
http;//www.cobkits.com
- 55x 55cm, aluminum plate, 3mm thick, for passive cooling - no fan required, ~10$, walmart
(maybe add a few C-channels on the backside to increase cooling capabillity, but with tent fan not realy neccessary)
- HLG-120H-C1050B, 45$
http://www.jameco.com/z/HLG-120H-C1400A-Mean-Well-150W-Single-Output-LED-Power-Supply_2189214.html
- Eyebolts, awg18 wire, cheap thermal grease and a wall-plug, ~10$, ebay
-----------------
~100-110$(110-120$ with gen.6) +shipping

or put a few bucks on top and take a Quantumboard 150w kit.
Both fits perfect for a 2x2' tent, similar output and effiency, easily 6-7 zips per run!

Again, I'm not a COB pro, how many watts is that? 200?

It depends on which driver you are using.
HLG-120H-C1050 = 150w (4x ~34,5v x 1050mA, 4x ~36w)
with
HLG-185H-C1400 200w!(4x 35v x 1400mA, 4x 49w)

Each COB needs ~ 33-38V, depending on which current is applied. The higher the current the more volts are needed.
Vice versa the lower the current the lower the needed voltage and the better the effiency of the LED/COB.

I put my carbon filter on the outside my second grow after making that same mistake the first time... live and learn lol
