Is 12 42 Watt CLF's Overkill?

Would 12, 42 Watt CFL's be overkill for a 30"x30"x17" grow area? I plan on running 12 6500K during vegitaition and then 8 2700K and 4 6500k during bloom.

This would be my first grow and plan on only trying to grow about 3 plants in this small area. Would this be a healthy amount of light or overkill.

hell no my litle veg chamber is 2x2x3 i have that amount... i used 2 3 way fixtures...like the ones over the sink.....with a splitter in each one with two bulbs in each splitter

Scerv, how do you have your air circulation and ventilation setup? I am plan on installing a 4" Inline Fan to exhaust, but still havn't decided on an intake fan yet.

Do you, or have you had any temperature issues with 12 CLF's?
