Hey first time grower here about to start 1 plant, i have 4 23w 6500k cfls for veg stage and will most likely add some 2500k for flowering. is this even worth attempting, i would like to end up with at least an ounce is this possible with the described setup? if so what would you veteran growers suggest i do as far as time in each stage or growing?

CFLs read that.

Those 23 watt bulbs are like big tits on a nun. They might look good, but they serve no purpose.

with enough of them they will do the job, if your gonna grow with cfl,s... get more....I suggest going to wal mart and picking up a few 65 watt cfls...their about 20 bucks a peice....but put out a shitload of light...their 200 watt replacements...good luck....

With enough cfl you might be able to get 1oz from a plant. MAybe with some quality fertilizers with help increase the bud yield. I got 1/2oz off my first plant with 4 23watt and no nutes. Just water and light. lol.

lol yea. I messed up ALOT on my first time. I had two but one died. More light gets bigger buds. So it really depends on how much light and love you give it. :bigjoint:

Alright thanks a lot guys i am going to keep looking for higher watt cfl but around here the 23w are the highest i can find. I have only checked places like lowes, walmart and homedepot but i think the investment will definatley be worth it in the end.

How much light is needed for growing?
Depends on the size of plant you are trying to grow. I'll try to answer this "in general" instead of being specific to one size plant. Light seen and perceived with the human eye is measured in Lumens. There is an ideal amount of lumens for growing and a minimum amount of required lumens. The very minimum amount of light required for smaller sized plants grown is around 3000 lumens per square foot. Let me put emphasis on "minimum amount" of light. However, that's not 100% exactly accurate, since although you may have a 10,000 lumen light, the amount of light that reaches the plant varies with the distance between the light and plants, and the reflectivity of the grow area. The ideal amount is somewhere around 7000-10,000 lumens per square foot for average sized plants. As long as the plants do not show burn, as much light can be used as you want to use. (Note, the sun produces about 10,000 lumens per square foot, on a sunny mid summer day).

Lowes, Walmart, Home Depot:

then one of these:

and if you want to add two lights to a reflector, you get a Y spliter.

I had two tanks, started 6 seeds in each, got three females in each. I Vegged 5 weeks, two days, and Flowered 8 and half weeks. I had 4 105s, 4 85s, 4 65s, divided on each tnak, plus four 42s on the sides of each tank. Each tank had one monster, one mid-size, and one runt. (I got pics of all of it posted)
My biggest plant yielded 7 and half ounces of dried, manicured buds. My entire harvet was 15 and 3/4 ounces of dried buds, weighted AFTER the drying and manicuring. I got about 8 grams of HASH Oil from the FAN leaves, and 12 grams of fine blonde HASH from the trimmings from manicuring.

YES, you can get giant colas with CFLS

Grew NL mixed with White Widow, my tallest plant was 42 inches tall, from the bottom of the tank.

my main cola on my 1st one was the size of 2 LARGE TV remotes, it was a huge bitch! im considering the $20hps to see if the added lumes will help, but just using MG soil and some nutes, i did pretty damn well, and nice tree man!
