Is a spot that is covered in moss a good place to grow in?

Say i found this spot that is covered in moss and a bunch of 9 foot birch trees..the soil underneath is black and nice and rich with a ph of about 5.5 or so...it holds water quite well but is in a spot that could easily flood (flat ground)

what should i do to give my soil better drainage ( add some sand?) or what?:leaf:

If I were you I would just pick another place because moss grows in wetter climates than marijuana. If you planted there you might end up rotting your roots, killing your plant, plus always having to take a chance with floods. Just pick another place maybe somewheres a little more open also, old logging rods, where theres feilds and feilds with only like 3-5 feet of vegetation. hope that helps :bigjoint:

old logging raods/logging patchs are often alreayd targeted by other marijuana growers and they are checked out by law enforcement too.

moss grows because there is little direct light and constant moisture bog plants do better in that type environment, think about burying a five gal. bucket with drain holes into the soil 1/2 way and filling it with soil

moss grows on the north side of tree where there is no direct sunlight, weed grows on the south side where there is alot of direct sunlight!

Moss is utilized in rock garden design, in conjunction with water gardens, ponds, or ferns, or simply in that shady spot where grass won't grow. Growing moss has fast become an increasingly desirable and low-maintenance alternative to grass lawns and conventional shade gardening plans. With Moss Acres, growing moss has never been easier!

shady spot where grass wont grow....find a clearing that gets several hours of daylight ...good luck with your grow
