Man, I was smoking back in ghd 50s, 60's, 70's, 80's and on, and on .... and I've never heard of "Monkey Paw." I think strain names sometimes are regional.

Well the seeds came from a friend that got them from his dad. I talk to his Dad and he told me he been grow this strain for 35 or so years. He brought the seeds back from Nam . Said it was called monkey paw. I remember back in the 80 smoking some of his weed and man that was the best weed I had ever smoked . Small buds but they would leave you feeling so stoned you couldnt move . I have done been trying to find some one with pics so I can compare to what I'm growning to make sure.

Been smoking since the 70s, and I've never heard of it. But then again, I only remember a couple of named strains from those days: 'Columbian Gold' and 'Maui Waui'. Back when a quarter ounce was a $10 (dime) bag. I wish I could go back in time, buy a bunch of that stuff with today's money, then come back to the current time. Heh.

I started smoking in the early 80's. I remember Sinse, thia-weed, different names ending in "gold" . I think I've heard of that Maui Waui too.

Yesterday I was at the gas station and one of my sons friends was on the other side of the pump and I was bitching to him about 70 cents a gallon gas and 55 cents a pack cigs back when I started driving. Then I realized, I have turned into my grandparents.

Don't feel bad . . . both were a quarter (25 cents) when I started.
As for this "Monkey Paw" I'd definitely be old enough to remember it if I'd ever come across it.

I do remember selling "lids" (z's) for $15 and making 90$ a pound profit before I graduated HS in 70' and little bricks of Mexican not much larger than a solid pound of butter.

The days of the four finger lid are gone because you had to smoke that whole lid to get as high as you do off an 1/8th of today's stuff. Then there was "mersh", short for "commercial", remember that shit? Ugh. There was Columbian Gold, Columbian Red, Acapulco Gold & Red, Maui Waui, Thai sticks.. I need to hear/read all the old names because I'm sure I've forgotten them. When I was in high school I got a hold of something that was known only as "One Hit", because one hit and you were STOOOOONNNEEEDDD.

To the OP, if you can, how about you make some seeds? Old genes can be good for new stocks and I bet you'd have a market.

And I say let's hear it for getting old, because of the alternative. :D

I took my first toke in 1986 when I was in college. The only Monkey's Paw I remember was from a Simpson's Halloween Special.
