Is Fem worth the extra money?

Looking into ordering some seeds and the site offers Fem seeds for twice the price as reg. are Fem worth it when you can get twice as many seeds for the same price?

they shouldnt be twice the price?maybe a few dollars more, some breeders actually charge less for their fems.with good fems you should get mainly female plants.you wont always get only females from fems, but for the most part you will.
if you get regs, you dont know how many females from 10 seeds for example you'll get.you could get 1 or 10.alot of the time tho on average you'll get 50/50.
if you aint planning on breeding then fems are good, just make sure you do research on whatever strain youre interested in to make sure its solid before you buy it.

Fems ALL THE WAY! Totally worth the investment.... do some price comparisons for the strains you want from different distributors.
but without feminized seeds...you waste time, money and precious space!!

I hate people who dis fems. Some of us don't have the space or want to take the risk of growing more than a few plants, why spend the best part of a month veging 1, 2 or 3 plants only to get males. Fems for the win, and if the breeder is good hermies are not an issue ever, unless your environment would have made them hermie anyway even if they were regs.

i think its pretty straight forward if you want to breed/experiment then it has to be regs, but if you just want a crop for whatever reason then fems is the only way all depends what you are growing for

i believe fully in feminized seeds. A good breeder will make good seeds, no matter if they are auto, photo, sativa, indica, fem or non-feminized. its weed remember, its all going to have cannabinoids and if breeded the right way will have awesome qualities of the strain. I personally think more should be regular seeds just so they can breed and make 100000s of more seeds to spread around, thats what we need, as many people as possible with the means to grow. anyone can be a breeder, remmeber its just pollen chucking. and it will usually turn out to be decent if the genetics are already decent. fem seeds def have their place in growing and the industry in general, but dont forget how power males really are, without males there would be no females. so next time u throw a bunch of plants outside or have a few extra spots in the closet, let a male shed pollen and collect it, after that you can freeze the pollen and kill the male, then u can use that pollen whenever u find an awesome female to inpregnate...best of luck

If cost is an issue, then buy some fem seeds and make a seed crop or selectively pollinate buds for almost free seeds. I have done it using colloidal silver.

you need a male to breed unless you have a hermi so regular seeds would be best for that like i said

If i want to breed two specific plant strains then I get regs for the plant I want to be male, feminized for the female. Simple as.

All depends on situation, with my current four plant closet it would be sheer lunacy to get regs.
Now, if i was covering my acre. . it would be a different story.

It comes out to about the same. Plant the regular seeds and 50% are male and go to the trash.

Plant feminized, cost is double, but all seeds go to harvest. Pretty simple really. I buy feminized and get 100% female bud producing plants.

The fem seeds are the way to go...unless you want to breed.
Well worth the premium price.

Feminised seeds are good if you have limited space. There are those that have moral issues with feminised seeds though. They say that it's messing up the gene pool. There have been feminised plants make their way into the fields of India and are spreading which I guess are pollinating landrace strains which isn't good at all. If you want to make your own femmed seeds it's quite simple. All you need is a couple of 100% straight females and spray colloidal silver onto a couple of young buds on one of the plants leaving the other plant completely untouched. The bud will be unsmokeable but it will force it to make male pollen sacks, and because the pollen that comes from this is from a female plant when you dust it onto your other 100% female the seeds will be feminised. You need two females because you can't dust the plant with it's own pollen. Well you can but it don't work apparently. If you were to do this and have your own stock from it there's no moral dilemma as it's your own and you're not contaminating any natural stock out in the wild :)

Actually plants grown from feminized seeds carry recessive male genes and can be made to produce male flowers by using colloidal silver, and if you pollinate females with pollen from a feminized plant then the seeds you get from that plant are feminized.

feminized is the way to go, but personally I then take clones as it saves a lot of money and effort.
