I sometimes do, if my pots have been brought inside for one reason or another, but even when I empty the saucer, I always go back about 10 minutes later and sometimes there is a little more to empty.

Hmm... I just leave mine in there to keep the humidity up but I am still vegging. By the next day its all gone any how. But my roots are not long enough to sit in water yet... is that an issue?

yeah as long as your roots aren't in the water or the water isn't blocking the roots from breathing then it shouldn't be a problem. And for leaving there for humidity is cool but only if its need you don't want too much plant can perspire and dry.

Na it hovers around 60% no moisture in the cabinet and plenty of circulation. Smart pots... not sure if that makes a difference but yea, I never even thought about roots sitting in the water until now. I guess I will need to get in the habit of emptying them or make a tray and drainage system. Just be hard in the TV

If you put a layer of something like crush n' run gravel in the saucer, then not so important to check it immediately, or just in case you do end up forgetting, as it will keep the pot elevated. :)
