Is it ok to take off the seed casing?

I've got a seed that i planted about 2 days ago and is just now sprouting from the soil, i can see the green coming out of the seed, but the seed casing is still surrounding the new growth, my first plant grew like this too, and i ended up having to peel the casing off the sprout for it to continue to grow, is that an ok thing to do?

as long as you dont have to force it off yea, if you try you'll just snap the starter leaves off with it.

Patience is overrated. It's easy to say when you've got a stash, bongsmilie unfortunately I'm all out and still 2 weeks away from starting to flower! LOL You live and learn, I guess.

Anyway, the casing will eventually fall off, doesn't really make any difference from what I've seen.

yeah, I just let it fall off on its own.
far too sensitive to be pulling it off

couple of real newb responses there. its much safer to leave it alone. it will come off on its own. very easy to damage it beyond repair at this point in its life.

I just let it go this time, as it was starting to shed on it's own and it's doing great, i planted it less than 48 hours ago and i can already see the first set of real leaves, i'm excited :)
